    3. I have large trees on both Ancestry.com and Ancestry.co.uk. I barely use their records at all, it was mostly a place to park my trees. I don't feel that I can trust Ancestry anymore and would like to have my trees somewhere else besides just with them. Not being very tech savvy, can anyone advise me on how to get the information from Ancestry, including pictures and sources, onto something without re-typing the entire thing? Ideally, it would be without re-doing any of it, just transferring it. I was going to put it onto a thumb drive over Christmas holidays. Would that be a good idea? If so, then where to go from there? Best wishes, Lois Blackburn Massachusetts, USA

    3. Hi Lois The only realistic way of making a copy of a tree on Ancestry to include all images is to get a copy of FTM2012 or FTM2014 which can synch between your computer and Ancestry Once synch'd you should have a complete copy of all data on Ancestry in your tree, (each tree would have to be done if you have more than one) Once you have it on your computer you can make a back up of that file and keep it elsewhere and also import that file into other packages should you wish to Support will end 31st Dec 2016 and synch also at the same time but that is not clear as yet but FTM would continue to work on your computer The cost of FTM would be small compared to the hours of typing involved doing it manually You can download a gedcom from Ancestry very easily but they do not include images attached to your tree, just the basic data Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) On 09/12/2015 17:10, Lois B. via wrote: > I have large trees on both Ancestry.com and Ancestry.co.uk.
