Hi Folks I've been looking (of course) at the wonderful West Riding Quarter Sessions records which have appeared on Ancestry (bliss!!) and have found one from 1720 which relates to my ancestress Dinah Nelson. But it's in Latin.. Now I can get so far with a combination of my school girl Latin / a Latin Dictionary / On-line translation tools and I have worked out that it seems to involve . Breaking and entering and the trampling (with feet) on fields of crops . Consuming something . Breaking something? and throwing it in the water . Taking something and carrying it away There are several words that I just can't fathom, but what I really want an opinion on is - was it John Turner who trampled on Dinah's land, OR was it Dinah who trampled on John Turner's, land? I think it was Dinah who was at fault, but would welcome your thoughts. The Latin (as far as I can work it out so please excuse any misspellings) is below.
