Hi, I am using FTM 2014 so whether these comments apply to earlier versions I cannot say. But in FTM 2014 if you go to the "Person" screen (as opposed to the "Tree" screen), you see a list of entered details about the person in question. There are some buttons at the top right of the window containing those details. Facts, Timeline, Relationships, +, X. + (it is blue) is used to enter a new fact. Relationships is where you can change the status of an existing relationship, from natural father to step-father, say. I don't think you can create a new relationship there as I have tried but cannot see a way to do it. To create a new relationship that doesn't happen in the normal way you go to the "Person" menu item (as opposed to the "Person" screen) and choose Attach/detach person. It is not the easiest thing to use, backup before you start and be very clear in your mind as to what you want to do. It gets easier with practise. Does this answer the questions? Hi and thanks to both Lin and Christine. How foolish do I feel. I have never spotted the Person tab when on the People page just as soon as I did every thing became clear. I thank you ladies for your help. Brian On 16/03/2016 15:54, Christine Benson wrote: > Hi, > > I am using FTM 2014 so whether these comments apply to earlier > versions I cannot say.
