Looking for someone connected to this couple. I have Jane WAKEFIELD, born 1878 Crigglestone marrying Friend TATTERSLEY, born abt 1877, Crigglestone. They married Chapelthorpe, Crigglestone 16 April 1900. I believe they had twin girls, Elizabeth & Mary in 1901 as shown in 1911 census. In 1904 Friend is found in a prison record being in arrears of maintenance so I imagine he and Jane must have separated. Then in 1909 another child, Maud, is born. In 1911 Jane and the children are living with her parents and Friend is a boarder in the Mary Baker home in Flockton. Does anyone have this couple in their tree? Hello Marg, Further to my previous message, I've now found the following. Elizabeth Tattersley - born 15 November 1900 at Wakefield. Married William Charles Chippendale (born 23 August 1902 at West Derby Registration District, Lancashire) in Q1 1924 at Wakefield. One child; Betty Chippendale - born Q3 1936 at Wakefield. Elizabeth died Q3 1989 at Wakefield and William Charles died Q4 1988 at Wakefield. As Elizabeth and Mary Tattersley share the same volume and page number of their birth registration (9C 12) in Q4 1900, I would be quietly confident that they were twins. I hope this helps some more.
