It was only recently that they stopped supporting Vista (released in 2007) and that was a miserable version. Most people I know still use WIN 7. When I bought my current machine, I went into Best Buy and 'test drove' WIN8 and didn't like it at all. I am not a tech neophyte. I worked for Hewlett-Packard for 24 years, and several of those years were in tech support. I get auto updates and use Microsoft Security Essentials. If it ain't broke don't fix it.
