A reference for the Dewsbury Register Office is not the same as a reference for the GRO. Best go to the GRO website. If the reference came from FreeBMD use that. Just put GRO in the search browser and once there register your details (name etc). Certificates costs £12.50 each I am surprised Dewsbury RO suggested such a thing. Maybe if you had the Dewsbury reference (see YorkshireBMD for this) they would have issued the certificate. Hi List I live in New South Wales Australia and last week ordered a 1973 Death Certificate from the GRO using all of the necessary numbers. As you've advised the cost was 9 Pounds, 25 pence including postage and this converted to A$17.40 using a credit card with the bank charging 0.52 cents international transaction fee. The certificate should be here sometime next week.
