    3. Could someone please tell me where to look for the birth death of the child of Matthew KING and Elizabeth (THWAITE) KING? He/she was probably born between their marriage in the Apr-May-Jun quarter 1852 and elizabeth's death on 03 July 1864. (I've tried FamilySearch/Ancestry.) According to "The Thistlethwaite Family. A Study in Genealogy" by Bernard Thistlethwaite ( http://www.archive.org/details/thistlethwaitefa01this ), "Elizabeth THWAITE... born 20th March, 1812, at Low Blean, married Matthew KING, of Bentham, draper, when she was middle-aged, and had one child which died as an infant" (page 197). This is all I have about their infant. No child found in the 1861 census with either Matthew (who was visiting his brother) or Elizabeth. Thanks. Pip. NEW ZEALAND.

    3. Re my earlier email about Mary CLEMENT and Henry TERRY, Nancy sent me a "likely" baptism entry ( from the Durham Records online) of a Mary CLEMENT baptised Northallerton 1756. This is a couple of years earlier than I had thought but certainly a contender since she was married in 1789 Northallerton she may very well have been baptised there! So if some kind person IS going to the Records office could they kindly check this entry out for me please. I would be most appreciative. Thanks Margaret Taylor ( Port Perry.Ont)

    1. [YORKSGEN] Mary HODGSON nee HUTCHINSON bur. between 1812 and 1819.
    2. John Lindley via
    3. Hi I am trying to establish whether one of the Mary HODGSON burials in Bedale in 1818 and 1819 was the wife of Edward Hodgson. Edward HODGSON and Mary (nee Hutchinson) married in Bedale in 1811 and appear to have had a son Thomas in Leeds in 1812. In 1819 Edward married Anne LINDLEY in Leeds – he was a bit older than her and so I always suspected a second marriage. In the censuses, Edward was fairly consistent in stating that he was born in Bedale. He appears to have been the son of Thomas HODGSON, yeoman of Little Crakehall, but in adult life was variously a husbandman and labourer in and around Leeds. Anne LINDLEY was the sister of my 3xgreat gr’father, Thomas Lindley (1800-1882). John Lindley NRY.
