I suspect many might be having problems with their Internet connections. At least one telephone exchange in York was flooded and put out of action. There are reports of several of the mobile networks in that area having lots of base stations off. This shows the exchange. https://twitter.com/gavinatkinson/with_replies Martin Briscoe Fort William martin@mbriscoe.me.uk -----Original Message----- From: yorksgen-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:yorksgen-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Ted and Barb via Sent: Sunday, December 27, 2015 11:38 PM To: yorksgen@rootsweb.com Subject: [YORKSGEN] Flooding From Comox, BC our deepest sympathy to all Yorkshire folk in your time of misery and distress. Morning all, well it's finally here - at least in Oz it is. Just wanted to wish everyone a safe, peaceful and healthy Christmas. Have a great time and hope everyone breaks down a brick wall or two next year or at least removes a few bricks from them. Thanks Lin for all your hard work. ttfnTrishfrom a lovely cool central coast of NSW with rain threatening all day....

She is with a daughter Esther Dowkes in Main Street and this is in the Helmsley RD, but Main Street is carried on from one or more previous pages, so I don’t know which Main Street. Main Street exists in Harome (where I know she lived for many years) and Wombleton (where she was born) and elsewhere. There is a Flintoft family on the same page and there is a Flintoft Cottage in Main Street Harome, so that’s my guess. However, is there an index of Registration Sub-Districts or Enumeration District Letter Codes which will give me this precisely? Greetings, I have now finished transcribing the Malton Cemetery Burial Registers and these can now be had on CD or by download from the Ryedale Family History Group. An extremely interesting project of over 6,000 entries ... ... a labour of love, and I think a rich information source to now have more accessible than before!. Seasonal Wishes John Blanchard

Sharon I have thought a bit about this. How about doing this. First save the two trees with separate titles. Lets say one tree named, as before, but ending with A and the other B Merge A and B to create a tree AB. The upload this to Ancestry. Don't work and the merged tree AB just continue on your separate trees as before. You can now leave one subscription on Ancestry. You will still get the same responses from Ancestry but it will go to the person whose subscriptions remains there. Both separate trees are not affected. If you want to in the future you can again merge the two trees and upload that to Ancestry. I have not uploaded my tree to Ancestry for some time now and have no plans to do so. RUCKI, Jean (nee Kershaw) May 2, 1926 – Bradford, Yorkshire, England December 6, 2015 – Calgary, Alberta It is with heavy hearts that the family of Jean Rucki announces her passing on December 6, 2015 at the age of 89 years. Jean was born on May 2, 1926 in Bradford, Yorkshire, England where she spent most of her youth. Her favorite memory of grade school was being captain of her netball team. She experienced the hardship of WWII and was always grateful to have survived that time in history. Jean was skillfully trained as a secretary and worked for several businesses after the war. During that time she met her husband to be, Tony, at a local dance. They fell in love and were married in 1952. Shortly after marriage they arrived in Halifax and first lived in Hamilton before settling in Calgary. In 1965 Jean and Tony founded Air Condition & Mechanical Maintenance Ltd., a company now run by their son Chris. She was always proud of the company's success and the contributions that she made. Jean and Tony raised three rambunctious boys during those years and spent many summers in Windermere together. She was an amazing cook, a keen bridge player, and a talented and creative writer. She loved reading and her Book Clubs, photographing her family, and travelling the world with Tony. She always made people feel welcome in her home during special occasions and made those times memorable. Her sharp wit, intelligence and good sense of humour will be truly missed by those who loved her. Jean is survived by her sons David and Chris; her daughter-in-law Kim; and two grandchildren, Jessica and Derek. Jean was predeceased by her husband, Antoni "Tony" Mieczyslaw and her son Stephen. At Jean's request there will be no funeral or memorial service. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
