Cyndy recently posted the European ancestors of Hans and Yost Yoder, the immigrants from Steffisburg, Switzerland to the Oley Valley, Pennsylvania. From what I have, from the Yoder archives, it seems that some of her spouses were off by a generation (but the message, at my end anyway, also had some extra lines, so perhaps it was a display problem?). Here's what I have - would love any additions or corrections: -- Ulli (b.c. 1340) m. Elsi Zaugg/Zook [all European spellings are Joder] Heini (b.c.1363) m. Leni Gerber or Gither Jost (b. 1387, Steffisburg) m. Madlene Schlichter Caspar (b. Steffisburg) m. Anni Meyer Caspar m. Margret Moser or Meyer Balthasar (b. 1525, Steffisburg) m. Anna Jost or Roth Caspar (b. 1548, Steffisburg) m. (1571) Anni Moser Caspar (b. 1571) m. (1596) Margret Hennig Nicolaus (b.1609) m. (1642) Anna Trachsel Adam (b. 1650) m. (9 Jan 1671) Barbli Ochsenbein Yost (immigrant, b. 5 Oct 1679) m. (?) Are the Caspars right? Is there a missing generation (or more) between Jost (b. 1387) and Balthasar (b. 1525), or is it just a few younger sons in a row (works OK if Jost, Caspar, and Caspar were all around fifty when their sons were born, but that does bring up the likelihood of additional wives)? Have any of the "either/or" wives's names been cleared up? For wives' parents, I only show Peter Zuagg, father of Elsi; are any more known? I alos have no dates on any of the wives, but I may not have transcribed all the data in the newsletters yet (it's just such a comfortable feeling knowing it's there!). Roll call was fun - I'm amazed by people who can trace 7 or 8 lines back to one couple. So far, in Berks Co., I've only had one "pedigree collapse" - BROBST. Hi to all my Oley cousins!
