    1. Locations and sources
    2. > I'll be more brief: NO NO don't be brief. We finally have people posting :) Since the roll call went so well, I'd like to ask where all our Yoder cousins Where are you located? I'm located in Canton, Stark Co, Oh. I was raised near Beach City. Beach City is on the southwest edge of Stark County. Within 2 to 4 miles you would be in Holmes, Tuscarawas, or Wayne County. Holmes Co has or had quite a few Yoder's. (I was thrilled when I first found Chris' Yoder info!) Which brings me to sources... The Yoder, Summers, Deardorff, Kerr lines are the only ones to live first in Pennsylvania. I've not researched there because I'm not there. Most of my info in Pa comes from others. All my other greats-grands came directly to one of the four counties mentioned above. So I have been looking at these counties records on microfilm at the county seats. The Stark Co library (in Canton) has a great genealogy section. Nicholas Yoder and John Summers came to Ohio in the early 1800's. I would have to look to see if Christian C and Christina Y were married here or there. I do remember Mom relating that Christina moved here in covered wagons in two weeks. They had hidden gold in apple butter crocks that sat in the front yard for a couple of weeks. Cousin Eric was here this summer from Australia and we looked up the graves of Nicholas Yoder. But that tale deserves a post of its own... Ginseng
