I've been busy restoring files and programs on my personal PC due to a crash on Wednesday (this didn't effect the archives which are on a server in California). On this Day in Yoder History in 1596 the likely common ancestors of us all, Caspar Joder and Margret Henning, were married in Steffisburg. On July 1st 1863, Samuel B. Yoder was severely wounded at Gettysburg (see YNL15 page 5). On July 2, 1864- Moses Yoder (Brother of Congressman S.S. Yoder) died in service of the Republic. He is buried in the National Cemetery in Chattanooga....where his stone is mis-labeled "Moses YADEN". Thank goodness the biggest share of workload (new census records) had already been uploaded, but I've lost all email addresses, bookmarks, and several other working files. If you've sent me data by email, I'd appreciate a retransmital using the "cyoder@mail.tds.net" address (rather than compuserve for now). Also, if any one of you has recently ordered and received the Yoder Disks...please contact me...I'd like to compare file dates and see if any include updates not yet posted to the archives. Happy Day anyway. We are truely blessed that our ancestors had the good judgement to come to this wonderful country. Chris Yoder Yoder Newsletter
