    3. Looking for information on my great grandmother. Her name was Emily Kitory Evelyne Yoder, she married Alexander Pounds on September 15, 1899 but I don't know where. She was born April 6, 1879 and died on February 10, 1925. I think maybe in the Corning, Arkansas area. She was buried in Nelson Cemetery in Datto, Arkansas so I am told. There is no marker on her grave, and no one seems to be able to find it. Any information on how I can go about finding this information out. Emily's father's name was Layfette Yoder and her mother was Caroline, don't know when she was born but her and Layfette were married in 1870 and they both died in 1882, they had 6 children. Names of the children were John Yoder, Sarah Ellen Yoder (who married someone by the name of Andrew Benton) Annie Yoder, Bell Yoder, Andrew Yoder and Emily Kitory Evelyne Yoder. Andrew is said to have died at an early age. Annie and Bell married a Smith and a Baker. But not sure which one married which. Emily and Alexander were married in the Steeleville, Missouri area and they had 9 children. Can anybody help me on this. Would appreciate anything. My name is Pat Becker and my e-mail is beckep@som-uky.campus.mci.net Thanks for any help. Pat

    3. For the Amish Yoder Descendants, don't forget "Yoder's Landing" --Sept. 21st....the anniversary of the arrival of the Ship "Francis and Elizabeth" in Philadelphia in 1742. For the two largest of the Amish lines it marks the arrival of our ancestors (YR1 and YR2) in America. We are all blessed that they came to this wonderful land! Sept. 17th, 1730- "Hans of Great Swamp", progenitor of the Mennonite Yoder line on this date signed a petition calling for a road to be built from the New Meeting House to "montgomery Road". Sept. 22, 1872- Joseph W. Yoder, author of "Rosanna of the Amish" is born. Samuel Yoder, father of immigrant Michael, dies in Germany. Sept. 28,1774- surveyor David Schultze writes a letter on behalf of John Jacob Yoder in Pennsylvania to Conrad Yoder in North Carolina. Sept. 30, 1915- Early family researcher and Civil War Major Charles T. Yoder dies in 1915 (see YNL article)

    2. Unfortunately I cannot help you with your direct connection, but I do have a feeling that your Beisel might be a Bichsel. My maiden name is Bixler and I have gone back to the 1500s where they spelled it Bichsel. I did look and did not find a Catherine Bichsel or an Emanuel Derk in my data base. Good luck, and let me know if I can be of further help. Rhonda
