Author: ohiotop1979_1 Surnames: England Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.yingling/225.2.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Furthermore, I have found reference to a significant grouping of Englands in northeastern Scotland, in particular Aberdeenshire, Nairnshire, Banffshire, Moray & Elginshire and around Dundee. As well as some in sw Scotland in Ayrshire/Galloway. This might be the origin of the Ulster branch if in fact we are descended from those that came from the north of Ireland. The name seems to have developed from a term differentiating a person a person of Anglo background from others in a particular area. Prior to Scotland the original bearer of the name obviously hailed from England; the origin of a considerable number of Lowland Scots family names. Whether or not our WV England family ties into this thread remains to be proven, as indeed if in fact they were Quakers or, more likely Presbyterian Ulstermen. I have seen some connection mentioned of this particular England family from Donegal, Ire. with certain families of Watson and Campbell of Co. Tyrone, N. Ireland; supposedly having e! migrated to PA together and possibly related by marriage to one another. Happy hunting in your genealogical endeavors. Author: DonnaJean Surnames: Yingling, Marker, Stiffler Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.yingling/247/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I am looking for what happened to Elizabeth Jane Marker born abt 1852, her husband William F. Yingling born 1844 died 1915, was buried in Yorktown Cemetery, Yorktown, Delaware, Indiana. There was a single marker put up for both of them, but no evidence that her half was used, date of death blank. Last known account of Elizabeth is living with daughter Daisy M. Stiffler in Long Beach, Los Angeles, California in the 1930 census. They, Fred and Daisy, are found buried in Tomlinson Cemetery, Muncie, Delaware, Indiana, Daisy in 1934 and Fred in 1959. So what happened to Elizabeth? There were two other children to William and Elizabeth, Clifford born abt 1872 and William Webster born 1880. I am hoping someone out there has some knowledge of her resting place. Thanks for any information, great or small. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 3. I have a problem with a Yingling who left her young children with an Elizabeth England Miller/Hockenbury. It has been suggested this could be her sister. Would it be ratonale to believe someone born as an England would change their name to Yingling. This would have happened in Clearfield, PA. This is similar to my family line here in Bedford County, PA where we were told that 2 young England brothers were left with a Yingling family or adopted by a Yingling family. So, things are pretty blurry once I get to those 2 brothers. Your father, Jerry, died in 1995-6 & your older (half) brother is Ron. The response you had gotten 11 years or so ago from a Tom Yingling on this site is what convinced me. My uncle Jerry had married a gal named Kathy & after they "adopted" Ronnie out of her side of the family, they had a little girl named Pam. I was just missing my grandpa & searching the web for some of his old artwork he did w/ Carl Gorr Studios in Chicago while he was still working as a commercial artist down on Harrison St. Let me know.
