Hi List, It has just come to my attention that we have several people on the list that are wondering where we all came from. I urge you to go to look at Cheryl's Websites: http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~yelton/ Cheryl's Alternate site: http://www.members.cox.net/yelton A brief summary is that our GGGGGGgrandfather James Yelton appears in Stafford County, Virginia marrying Isabell Hinson in 1743. Four of their children are also to be found in the Overwharton Parish Church Records of that county. We, to date have not found any evidence of James' father and mother. James was a Tailor, as mentioned in a will found in VA. This family included: Charles Yelton born 1 Nov 1746 James Yelton born 15 Jul 1749 Mary Yelton born 18 Apr 1752 Ann Yelton born 26 Jul 1755 Amelia Yelton born 17 Jul 1755 William Yelton born about 1757 Nancy Yelton born about 1759 We have pretty good records of all but Mary and Ann and Nancy. All three boys served in the Revolutionary War and received pensions for that service. We'll be glad to answer any questions you all might have. If we don't have the answers, we'll say so. I've been actively searching the UK records for about 3 years, trying to find the family of Yelton's that sent son James to the New World. I keep thinking I'm getting close, but that only counts in horseshoes... Sorry no Don's this early. I'll see if I can find out when the first Don appeared. Iris ~Y E L T O N~ anywhere ~anytime~
