Cousins, In the 1880 Census for Morgan County, MO, on p. 230C, we find Hugh Smily, age 66, with his wife Martha (56) and daughter Minnie (15). Also in the household is a grandaughter, Myrtle YELTON, age 9. The census states that she was born in Missouri, that her father was born in Ireland (!) and her mother was born in Missouri. I checked the census at ancestry.com, and it really does say Ireland. Interestingly, Martha Smiley's father is also stated to have been born in Ireland. Maybe the census taker just made a mistake. But even if he did, who was Myrtle's father???? Cheryl
