Hi Everyone, I just received the attachment from our Cousin Don Yelton and needed to let you know of an error in the paragraph below. Please note the change in the area between the rows of *********. This is the kind of thing that once published is very difficult to squash, but we must try. The writer had most all of the facts right, they just skipped the generation of John & Mary Polly Deck Yelton and that of James Yelton & Mary (?). Otherwise this is great information. Thank you Don. If you pass this on to others, please pass on the correction as well. If any one else wants a copy of the whole article, either Don or I will be glad to send it to you as an attachment. We can't send an attachment through the list so we would send it to your personal e-mail address. There are some nice pictures with the articles too. Iris Excerpt from original message-------------------------------------------------------- from "The Heritage of Rutherford Co., " (NC975.691 H542), family 687: JOHN LANDRUM AND FI MELINDA ROBERTSON YELTON "John Landrum Yelton Sr. (2-18-1847 - 5-1-1929), a Civil War soldier, was the son of Jacob Yelton Sr. (7-22-1812- 3-12-1900) and Susanne Davis Yelton (12-28-1816- 2- y 15-1901), married March 14, 1836, and both buried in Cedar Grove Methodist Church cemtery, Bostic. He was the grandson of James Yelton Jr. and Isabelle Hinson, and great grandson of James Yelton Sr. who died in 1783 and was buried in Stafford County, Virginia." ************************************************************************************** Actually, John Landrum Yelton, Sr.'s ancestors should look like this: John Landrum Yelton(1847-1929) & Melinda Robertson > Jacob Yelton(1811-1900) & Susanna Davis Father > John Yelton(1776-1844 & Mary Polly Deck Grandfather > James Yelton(1749-1842) & Mary (?) G-Grandfather (Rev. War Pensioner, KY) >James Yelton(1720-1783) & Isabell Hinson GG-Grandfather So, the last sentence of the paragraph above should read: He was the grandson of John & Mary Polly Deck Yelton, the great-grandson of James & Mary (?) Yelton,(this is the James who was the Rev. War Pensioner, listed in 1850 KY Census as 92 years old) and the great-great grandson of James & Isabell Hinson Yelton. This is the James who died about 1783. ****************************************************************************************
