Hi Bob and Louise-I am not a Yelton, but my gggrandmother Sarah/Susan Eldridge married Jefferson Yelton sometime before 1848 when their daughter Mary J. . was born. Susan's guardian was John Wright after the death of her parents and she married Allen Wright(in 1852) after Jefferson died. I have not been able to find a marriage certificate for Susan and Jefferson-the only way I know they were married was it said she was his widow on her marriage cert to Allen. I have never been able to find out anything about Jeff-and whether or not they had other children. If you know anything about him or where he was from I would appreciate hearing from you.
