Loved your "dissertation," Betty. Of course, you're right that we can't automatically accept any information just because we come across it or it's in print (or because it would be so handy to just accept it in the face of all these confusing questions.). I wish I had better documentation for my information on John "Piney Woods." It came from a local contact who was a descendant through Abijah's son Lewis Winston, and I'm afraid she's no longer with us. On one hand, the children check out if you accept her listing of two wives--with John H., Susannah, Joseph, and Jacob as children of the first wife. She didn't have any Hugh Yeager in her line, but she did have Ducalion listed as the son of Abijah (Abigah, she had) and Lucy Williams, b. 8 Sept. 1791 in Laurens County, S.C. On the other hand, she has also Mary as the wife of Levi Clore, so the Lee issue is certainly unresolved. Can anybody else out there help us on this one? wilraven@caller.infi.net
