I have since been to the library and I have a couple of questions that maybe, the more experienced of you out there can answer. I was hot on the trail and just KNEW that I had the right family in reference to the census of Kemper county, showing John G. Yeager married to Emma Ballou. My confidence was ballooned when I reviewed the court docket deed books of Kemper and Bolivar county, MS. The names were just too right not to be the right family. According to the records of John G. Yeager, he was born in 1836 Tennessee, he had a brother Reuben, who was the key to the tree by his name being passed on and on. Well, that is one name that reappears over and over, but; what really caught my eye was the name of Rose Emma Ballou and her sisters Mary and Nellie and mother Rose E. Ballou. Rose Emma Ballou was the wife of John G. Yeager. These names reappear down the line, as well as today. My mother is Rosie Lee Yeager and she has a sister Nell and her late sister Mary (common name I know), she said the family said that she was named after her grandmother but, that name is Rosa Hannah of Montgomery Co. Census, not Rosie, possibly Rosie was Rosa's nickname, but; if this family of Ballou is correct then my mother might have been actually named after her great grandmother and her mother - Rose E. Ballou. Now, here is the problem,as I was so excited about this discovery, I realized that the name of Yeager was not shown as such, in the Census book at the libray, it was shown as Yeizer. Has anyone seen this spelling of Yeager to yeizer before? Does this make sense to anyway that the census could be mistaken in the spelling or does it make more sense to think that the spelling was changed for a reason unknown, or could I be totally chasing up the wrong tree? Also, here is another question according to the Census of Kemper County, MS for 1850, a family with Bos Yeager (age 33), head of household, wife Polly Yeager(age 28), children: Reuben L. Yeager (age 17-1833)(matches confirmed Reuben L. Yeager relative), William Yeager (age 16-1834), John Yeager (age14-1836) (Possibly the John G. Yeager referred to previously), Daniel Yeager (age 12-1838), Mary Yeager(age 10-1840), Sarah Yeager (age 6-1844), and Betsy Yeager (age 2 and half-1847)-- this has to be ther right family according to other family records, but the name of Bos does not fit, I am coming up with Bartholomew, could Bos be an abbreviation of this name? One more question, in reference to the Attala, MS Census, I know for a fact that this ancestor (One of my Yeagers that is confirmed) Lelia P. Armstrong married Reuben L. Yeager, born 1899, son of previously mentioned (if correct family-dates fit and names). Lelia did not marry an Adam Yeager, according to her daughter, Mary Lee Yeager. His complete name was Reuben Lee, no Adam included in name to the best of my knowledge, just another error or does anyone know of another explanation? How likely is it that the husband's name is incorrect? The name Adam does not reappear anywhere else in the tree that I know of, but; Reuben is always there. Oops, one more question, if John G. Yeizer (wife Rose Emma) is a Yeager, that would make him most likely the right ancestor, the key is in the names of his children and that key is yet to be found. I am in search of CLARENCE LEE YEAGER, siblings and parents to confirm this data and to determine date of births and locations, etc. Please help if you can to keep me on the right roots of the right tree. Sorry for the length of message, but; I did not know how to ask it without details. Thanks. Jenn
