I entered this information some weeks ago when I first joined this group, but thought it might bear repeating. Seems most of the Yeagers represented thus far have been from the south and arrived here much earlier than mine. Found CECILIA YEARGER and her four children on the 1855 Chautauqua County, N.Y. census. Have no idea when they entered the country. They came from Baden, Germany. Cecilia was born in 1805. On the 1855 census, the oldest child, Josephine, was 19. All the children were working in households in Westfield, N.Y. The youngest, who was 12, a boy, was working in the same household as his mother. On the death certificate for Cecilia, her husband's name was listed as Barth and her mother's name looked like Seinevich. It is my guess that Cecilia was a widow and they all came over as endentured servants. The oldest girl, Josephine, married Frank Volgstadt, who was also from Germany - Weimar and we have traced his family back to the 1700's. Mary married John Jacob Breeneisen and Amelia married Rudolph Meyers. They all stayed in Chautauqua County, N.Y. Samuel moved to Petrolia, PA where he married Margaret McCollough.
