Later Hemmig. I believe she ran a boarding house next door to The Hippodrome in Yarmouth after her husband died. She married a Hemmig who was a Hippodrome circus performer. Her father was William Herbert Pitt 1806-1906. Her mother Alice Margery Martha Levack 1868-1931. We can trace both sides back to the 1700's in part. Hope this helps. Unless you too are in Norfolk, the next time I am in Archives I will see what I can find but don't know when that will be. By the way William Yallop/Sarah Scarlett (Brooke/Seething) were my maternal 4xGt grandparents. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Author: Malcolm_Choat Surnames: Yallop Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.yallop/52.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: It would be my guess too that she was baptised in 1762 at Stoke Holy Cross. This not because there is any positive corroboration, but because that's the only Yallop birth I've managed to dig up that fits for name and age. Unfortunately the Stoke records aren't among the Norfolk parish records on familysearch. I've found all the baptism records for the children. John, my ancestor, was born in Bixley and is buried in Arminghall churchyard. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Author: MJD2009 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.yallop/52.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: My guess would be - Susannah Yallop baptised 25 Feb 1762 - Stoke Holy Cross Father William Yallop Mother Susanna unknown especially as 2nd and 3rd children were William and Susanna. Given the locality I have no doubt that they are related to my many Yallops but thus far I have not encountered this family - It needs additional research but too busy at the moment, please post if you have further success. I can also see baptism details for the children you mention, Jonathan was baptised at Arminghall . Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. She remembers staying with someone called Yallop in Great Yarmouth when she was a child (30s/40s), after she lost her mother. We have found a Yallop/Hemmig wedding (she remembers someone called Hemmig, she believes he was German or Swiss). Do you have anyone of this name on your tree? My grandmother believes that she was related to the Yallops, but so far we haven't found a connection - other names on my tree are Ward, Steward, Pitt, Levack and Yapp. Any help would be hugely appreciated!
