    1. Re: [Y-DNA-projects] roll call
    2. My name is Lewis Hart. I am the administrator of the HART DNA Surname Group. I am 68 years old, retired from the military & Postal Service. I have researched my ancestry back to John Hart, Sr., born c1720, of Essex Co., Virginia. I hit a brick wall because I needed information from Charlotte Co., Virginia and found that the court house and records were burned during the war. I didn't want to give up so I contacted the Professional Genealogists in Salt Lake City, Utah to finish my research. They now have the research back to Thomas Hart born in the 1600's. My goal is to find the first ancestor to come to America and where he was from. My Ydna haplogroup is R1b1b2g and my mtDNA haplogroup is U5b1b. This tells me that my ancestors were from Scandinavia. The Hart/Heart/Hardt/Hartt project has 96 participants. Research was fairly easy up until 1890 when the census stopped. I have found DNA to be a great help in finding related Harts that I would never have otherwise found. After ! posting my DNA there have been six participants who have matched with me with one or two mismatches at 67 markers. I think this group may be a big help in learning new ways of research. Brainstorming is always better than doing it yourself. Lewis Hart
