He is listed with only 80 (mostly useless) Novel Variants and for his Known SNPs he has no M223, CTS6433 (which he tested + individually) and many of his SNPs between M223 and CTS6433 are reported as negative or no result. No; they are now clearly known snps, having been found in one or more BigY results. They are identified in the sense that their positions on the y chromosome are given. They are just NEW. Big Y looks at approximately 10 million locations on the Y. So everyone will have newly discovered snps unique right now to himself. As more very close male relatives are tested, these downstream novel variants found in your dna will also be found in your close male relatives. That's the whole idea --- find new snps which allows pushing the Y tree closer and closer to the present.
