Hello Patrick, It looks to me like the paper is discussing a new method for testing many SNPs at the same time, which might make these tests cheaper and faster. They do mention the haplogroups and subhaplogroups of Europe, but their idea of a subhaplogroup is I1, I2a, and I2b1 (using the labels currently used by FTDNA). I don't think they announce any new SNPs or new divisions of haplogroup I, that wasn't their purpose. Bernie
