Wait for FTDNA to put some more Z snps in catalog -----Original Message----- From: Roy Silfven My FTDNA test is Z59+. Z140- What Now?
Roy, What is your current haplogroup assignment by STR classification? I assume from Ken's I1-M253 tree that you would be I1-AS3 or I1-AS-generic. If you are generic, your Z59+ result would still put you with I1-AS3, just as my Z139+ result puts me (I1-AS-generic) with I1-AS2. Phil Alfeld's Bowman cousin, who is also I1-generic, tests negative for Z58, Z63, and Z131, so he is in a 3rd sub-class of I1-generic. I certainly wish more of the I1-generics were as interested as you, Phil, and I in doing these Z-SNP tests. As I see it, they are guaranteed to get some further delineation no matter how their Z-SNP tests turn out, and at $29 per SNP the costs are not astronomical.
