    1. [yDNAhgI] "Western" Division of I1xL22?
    2. Kenneth Nordtvedt
    3. Did you’all notice that the two biggest hordes of I1xL22 with 15 at DYS464d and 22 at DYS447 are positioned on the new downstream Z-series snp based tree together? Z58+ and Z40+ By contrast the overall I1xL22 modality is 16 at DYS464d and 23 at DYS447. (Note: we are here not talking about the L22+ I1) I noticed this divide described above back in 2005 and tried to develop online awareness of it, but could not do much with it since, but now the new snps seem to keep it together with a split time from rest of I1xL22 of about 3000 years ago. See “Tree for I1” at http://knordtvedt.home.bresnan.net AS1 and the 14/22 complex including AS5 and AS6 are what I am talking about. In 2005 I saw a weak geographical signal connected with the divide, and with British Isles seeming to be richer in the 464d=15,447=22 I1xL22. There were some other geographical anomalies --- at least I thought I saw them. But alas, that information is in my old PC which resists being turned on again. One is tempted to call this division of I1xL22 the “Western” division. Anyway; it would seem a good research subject with today’s greatly expanded data --- Look at the geography correlated with this STR division of I1, and especially check whether British Isles are indeed richer (as compared to other I1xL22) in the “Western” type of I1xL22 than is Scandinavia or Germany, etc.? And how about variance-based age measurements? Ken
