I made a mistake in calling the snp. It is Z138 ----- NOT L138 Clades have not changed because Z snps came along. They just tag different snps differently. See "Tree for I1" at http://knordtvedt.home.bresnan.net Z snp results are just dribbling in in Haplogroup I. FTDNA is putting its resources somewhere else. -----Original Message----- From: Mark Pallette Sent: Tuesday, December 06, 2011 4:09 PM To: y-dna-haplogroup-i@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [yDNAhgI] L138 for I1-AS2? Ken, Should members of AS6 be tested for L138 or do you have enough data from this group? Also, I know you have been extremely busy posting new charts and interclade age estimates, but how long do you think it will be before we have a chart like the one you posted below in 2010: Professor Kenneth Nordtvedt made in May 2010 this list of Time to Most Recent Ancestors in the hg I-group. M253 - ASgen --- 3500 years M253 - P --- 3450 years M253 – T2 --- 3330 years M253 – AS13 --- 3360 years M253 - AS1 --- 1920 years M253 – AS8 --- 2000 years M253 – AS2 --- 1920 years M253 – AS3 --- 2030 years M253 – AS4 --- 940 years M253 – AS7E --- 1630 years M253 – EE --- 1500 years L22 - Norse --- 3000 years L22 – NuN14 --- 2750 years P109 --- 2730 years L22 – uN1 --- 2550 years L22– uN2 --- 1570 years L22 – uN9 --- 1800 years L22 – uN9a --- 1450 years L22 – Bothnia --- 1850 years Thanks, Mark Pallette On Mon, Dec 5, 2011 at 3:45 PM, Diana Matthiesen <Diana@danishdemes.org>wrote: > I have a family of AS2 CORBINs: > http://dgmweb.net/DNA/Corbin/CorbinDNA-results-HgI1.html#AS2 > > I'll try to persuade one of them to test L138, paying for the test if > I have to. > > Diana > > > -----Original Message----- > > From: y-dna-haplogroup-i-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:y-dna- > > haplogroup-i-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Kenneth Nordtvedt > > Sent: Monday, December 05, 2011 2:47 PM > > To: y-dna-haplogroup-i@rootsweb.com; genealogy-dna@rootsweb.com > > Subject: [yDNAhgI] L138 for I1-AS2? > > > > Has anyone from I1xL22 clade AS2 ordered the L138 test? Ken, At least for the Z SNP's that I have ordered, the turnaround time at FTDNA has been pretty fast. For Z138, Z139, and Z140, I ordered on 11/11/2011 and had my results back on 11/29/2011. Maybe the reason the results are dribbling in is that not many people are ordering. It seems to me that, for whatever reason, these Z-SNP's are giving more delineation in I1xL22 than we have seen in a long time, including 2 versions of the WTY project. From the results I have seen for AS-generic I1's, they have already been subdivided into at least 3 subgroups by these Z SNP's. So I, as a (former?) AS-generic I1, would strongly encourage members of our huge group to order the ones you have been mentioning: Z58, Z59, Z138, Z131, Z139, and Z140. Z58 Z63, and Z131 are the "entry" snps for I1xL22 It is probably a waste of money to do Z59, Z138, Z139, Z140 unless you turn out Z58+ on the entry snps.

I am so down and out over the collapse in results published at FTDNA I avoid as much as possible even checking the GAP results pages now. ]]
