It's in the ISOGG SNP Index as L199.1 and associated with R1b1a2a1a1d1. L199 is also in YBrowse, found in an R1b WTY participant by Thomas Krahn and listed as a private SNP (found in 7 people). It's also been found by Thomas Krahn in 10 E1b1b1a1b2c individuals and is listed in YBrowse as L675 (also listed in the ISOGG SNP Index). It's interesting that it has been found numerous times by Family Tree DNA but was given 3 different numbers (L199, L443, L675) rather than being given a variant of the same number, i.e. L199.1, L199.2, L199.3. 3. About a week ago, I was dropped from the list.  I wonder if more people were dropped including Ken? I too noticed the lack of traffic vs. the R1b U106 list which is flooding my email box. ________________________________ From: Familienarchiv Fritsche + Saldarriaga <familienarchiv@genealogie-fritsche.de> To: y-dna-haplogroup-i@rootsweb.com Sent: Tuesday, May 13, 2014 3:04 PM Subject: [yDNAhgI] Ken's absence I contacted Ken privately now. 3. This SNP seems to be at the junction of (TAAT)4 and (TTAT)3 STRs, and converts these to (TAAT)5 and (TTAT)2 (see the sequence at YBrowse). It does seem to be pretty recurrent but may still be useful in context, depending on just how recurrent it is. 3. I'm also puzzled as to why the variant at Y position 15477748 (T to A) appears in my variants.vcf file but not in my "Novel Variants" or in my "Known SNPs". Since this IS a known SNP (PF5371), it should have been in my Known SNPs list. Or if PF5371 is not in Family Tree DNA's Known SNP list yet, it seems that this variant should have turned up in my "Novel Variants" list. Has this SNP been found in other R1b people? Also, ybrowse says for YCC (Y Chromosome Consortium) Haplogroup: "Approx. hg: J?" How likely is it that a SNP will develop separately within two individuals in different haplogroups and be inherited by their descendants (i.e. the two groups of descendants with this SNP did not inherit it from a common ancestor)? 3. Have you checked your SPAM folder? I suspect that this issue, and the recent automatic unsubscribes on many mailing lists involves a problem with the implementation of a new security technical specification, DMARC (Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting & Conformance), http://www.dmarc.org/. This is being implemented by the main ESPs (Email Service Providers), sometimes with rather aggressive settings. The DMARC protocol checks incoming email against the sending ESP to prevent someone spoofing email IDs to send spam & virus programs. Unfortunately, email lists like Yahoo Groups and Rootsweb rebroadcast emails so to the DMARC process, these appear as spoofs and get bounced, or in the case of a recipient with Gmail, they end up flagged as spam. See also this article on ZDNet: http://goo.gl/Rn7KvX which explains it quite well. 1. [yDNAhgI] FGC3500/S5619 may be a tag for the I1-Z138 AS1414 STR cluster
    2. Obed W Odom
    3. Two members of the AS1414 STR cluster, myself (FTDNA kit 85047) and Lancy Pymble (FTDNA kit N7250), are now confirmed positive (T+) at FGC3500/S5619 (Y position 18238499), so it's looking like this may be a tag for AS1414. Ken's Chromo2 Z58 tree shows that 2 Chromo2 participants also tested positive for this SNP. I don't know if these guys are in cluster AS1414, but the chances seem good that they are. I will try to get more AS1414 members to test for this SNP, which is available at YSEQ < http://shop.yseq.net/> for a greatly reduced price (40% off) until Father's Day.

Has anybody some info from higher up in the tree, on both the positions and SNP mentioned that could help confirming or not these hypothesis? Thanks. Nicolas.
