    3. Dear Cuz's, In the Alpha Papers is a letter you who are familiar with the book "Huge Wynne, Free Quaker" by S. Weir Mitchell, would be interested in. The letter is Thomas Elliott Wynne. I will post it as it was posted in the Alpha Papers... The Alpha Paper A publication of the Wynne Family and Kinsmen Association Volume II, Number 4 July - August 1979 Dennis Ray Wynn, Editor Page 6 Thomas Elliott Wynne 11 East Princeton Road Bala-Cynwyd, Pa. 19004 April 11, 1975 Dear Mrs. Dennison: The Inquiries in your recent letter haven't bothered me in the slightest, but I'm afraid that I can be of little help to you. My father was the genealogist in our family, but it has not been my forte. I do know that there wasn't any Hugh Wynne. It was a fictitious name selected by Dr. Mitchell. The character was actually Thomas Wynne, a Lieutenant in Cadwalader's regiment. Dr. Thomas Wynne was William Penn's personal physician who came to Philadelphia with him on the ship "Welcome". The so called "Hugh Wynne" was the great-grandson of Dr. Wynne - born 11th month, 21, 1733 - died 1782. Jonathan was the son of Dr. Thomas Wynne. You are right that Samuel was my great-grandfather. All of my ancestors were born in the olde Wynne Homestead, which still stands in Wynnefield. I think it is the oldest stone house in Philadelphia. Dr. Wynne built the house in 1689 for his son Jonathan. I have no information on the Sharpe family or Coleman Wynn. Here endeth my epistle. I am sorry that I can't be of more help. Sincerely yours, Thomas E. Wynne Mrs. Robert F. Dennison Apt. 106 B, 4201 Bonita Road Bonita, Ca. 92002 in hand writing it says on the bottom: "Wrote May 25th Thanking him for this letter." Now wasn't that a neat note! it explains some of our questions about "Who is this guy Hugh Wynne????" Hugs Cuz B ttg-inc@comcast.net http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~ttg13/
