The Cedar Rapids Gazette (Cedar Rapids, IA); pg 4B Wednesday, March 29, 2006 Obituary: Mary "Kay" (Kayser) Winn, 69, of 1030 Clifton St. NE, died Monday, March 27 2006, in her home following a lengthy illness. Funeral Mass: 10 a.m. Friday., St. Pius X Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, by Father Donald Klein. Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion, where a vigil service will begin at 6 :30 p.m. Burial: Sacred Heart Cemetery in Walker. Survivors include her husband, Marc "Tuff" of Cedar Rapids; her children, Connie (Kevin) Rooney of Minneapolis and their children, Breana (and fiance Nick Walton) and Shalene Rooney, Steve (Kathy) Winn of Huntington Beach, Calif., and their children, Zachary and Jacob Winn, Julie (Robert) Meisinger of Cedar Rapids and their daughter Kayla Rose, and Mark (Allison) Winn of Manchester and their children, Logan and Eva Kay Winn; and one great-grandchild, Ethan Walton. She was preceded in death by her parents. Kay was born Jan. 13, 1937, the daughter of John "Jack" and Stella (Cosgrove) Kayser, in Cedar Rapids. She graduated from Walker High School in 1955 and then became a licensed beautician. On July 7, 1959, she married Marcellus J Winn at Sacred Heart Church in Walker. Kay was a bone marrow donor at Mayo Clinic for Amyloidosis research. Kay was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She especially enjoyed her time with her grandchildren and great-grandchild. She touched many lives in many ways and will be missed by those who knew and loved her.
