My maiden name was Sprinkle and I research all branches of the Sprankle-Sprenkle-Sprinkle family. John Sprinkle in the census data you transcribed is the son of George W. Sprinkle & Hannah Barley. George is a VA Sprinkle who left Virginia moved to Indiana via Kentucky in the 1838. John's wife Margaret is Margaret Roach. Caleb Hardesty Sprinkle, whom you mention married Sarah Wynn, is a son of Samuel Barley Sprinkle & Nancy Hardesty. Samuel Barley Sprinkle is another son of George W. Sprinkle & Hannah Barley. I believe Sarah Ellen Wynn was the d/o Isaac Wynn & Sarah Frush. George W. Sprinkle is a mystery Sprinkle. We have our theories as to who his parents were, but we can't prove it. We know George lived in Rockingham Co., VA, then Augusta Co. and Rockbridge Co., VA. When the family arrived in IN, they first lived in Putnam Co., then moved to Cass Co., where George W. died in 1862. He and other members of the family are buried at the Sprinkle Cemetery.
