For those of you going on the Wales trip, We have some British retiree friends who recently bought a "vacation" house here in our town in Alabama. He owned a factory in Manchester that produced lawn and patio furniture. He turned the business over to his sons and retired, and they now travel a lot. Out of curiosity, I copied some of the Wynne writings about Dr. Thomas' background with references to various places in Wales, and I asked them to read over those and let me know if any of the names or places were familiar. She wrote a short note with the following statements: We lived in Rainhill in Lancashire for a while... Flintshire in N. Wales is somewhere we have travelled to on many occasions. We recognize Denbigh which is famous for a nice range of pottery tableware. Port Merion of course is also a popular Welsh tableware, named after the lovely tourist village which is built in the Itallian style, and well worth a visit. Some similarities that stand out to me are: "tableware" -- Mrs. Richards, above, an expert in furniture and silver. "Port Merion" Mrs. Richards went to Merion High School. There is a Pt. Marion right next door to Fairchance PA where the Hugh faction of the Wynne tree lived. "Preston" There is a Preston on the map north of Liverpool, and Preston is the WV county next to Fayette Co. PA, where Fairchance is located. Cuz Gary
