Dear Vi Grooms-Alban, Your Email intrigued me. I am a new member of the Wynne Genealogy online group. As I am descended from Thomas Wynne through Enoch Abraham of Fayette County I am curious who Mary Abraham's parents were. My mother, Evelyn Abraham Benson, the inveterate genealogist, probably knew this. I do not unless I search her documents. My contribution to her work is the preservation of her incredible research. I can see that this is going to be a fascinating and delightful connection. Susannah Benson (mother of Brett Wynne Lasky-Benson) As an aside, his father and I wanted him to be a "winner" in life. We purposely "scripted" him with this moniker. Evidently it worked. He is scheduled to graduate from Temple University in Philadelphia in May, apparently with honors and has been accepted into law school. I find the genetic predispostion to superior accomplishment in the Wynne line extraordinary. ALL of Enoch's children were accomplished. Can you imagine a female dentist and surgeon in 1886? That was Margarite Abraham Stewart. The men were successful in various businesses. Many of you will note this as just the passing of another person linked loosely with our Wynn reasearch group. But, I would like to speak to Olema's passing in another way - a sort of tribute. Olema came on our Wynn scene as a researcher who never came to one of our reunions - but she was always in sight. Olema represents one of the oldtime researchers. She went to research centers armed with pen and paper - early on there were no copying machines, and Olema hand-copied all of her early records. And, she had some important records, among them the copy of Alexander Murray's wedding records, written in his hand, that recorded many early Wynn marriages in Berks and Chester County PA. My own research was helped by this document - it contained the wedding verification for Warner Wynn, b. 1747, and Mary Abraham. I am forever greatful for her work. Not to get too sentimental! Olema and I had great debates on the various Isaac Wynns - one of whom is buried in MN d.1880, b. @ 1782. We never could agree on whether he was the son of Thomas Wynn, b. 1750 or Warner Wynn, b. 1747. Maybe I'll get the Isaacs all straightened out and will report to Olema in another place. God rest her generous soul. Vi Grooms-Alban Minnesota I help busy people organize their pictures & tell their stories in safe, simple albums. "Our albums aren't expensive .... they're priceless."
