Hi Connie, We get to Salisbury frequently but have not been aware of this research center. If you decide to come, please let us know when it will be - we'd like to see you and you would be more than welcome to stay with us. We're about an hour south on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. Before you make the trek, would you like us to check it out? Perhaps you could give us some pointers on what to look for that would be most relevant for you/WGS. Take care, Cuz'n Susan -------------- Original message from GramereC@aol.com: -------------- > Any body ever been here (Cuz Joe?) > > I think I have to go for a day. > > _http://nabbhistory.salisbury.edu/_ (http://nabbhistory.salisbury.edu/) > > Cuz Connie > > > > ============================== > Census images 1901, 1891, 1881 and 1871, plus so much more. > Ancestry.com's United Kingdom & Ireland Collection. Beckie Miller is in charge of the Research Center-they have come a long way in the 10 yrs or so that I was using their facility. Although the concentration is mostly on the lower Easter Shore Counties, Wicomic, Somerset, Worcester, and the two VA-Accamak & slipped my memory-there is also some info on the ones that my organization sponsors: Talbot, Dorchester, Caroline, Queen Anne & Kent (where I live.) For these later 5, the USGS Research Center located on Rt 313 btwn Denton & Greensboro, MD is the best bet. They are open to the public on Saturdays from 10-3; or by special appointment. If interested, let Joe D from MD know. ----- Original Message ----- From: <cadagrove@att.net> To: <WYNNE-GENEALOGY-SOCIETY-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, April 04, 2005 11:51 AM Subject: Re: [WGS] Eastern Shore MD > Hi Connie, > > We get to Salisbury frequently but have not been aware of this research center. Hi, This sounds interesting. If I get my energy back, maybe Orval and I can come. Can someone give us directions or addesses so I can do map quest?? I guess I need Joe's address if that is where we are meeting?? Cuz, Kathleen from Quakertown, Pa, my grandaughter calls it Quackertown, or maybe she is referring to me. Incidental. Ancestry.com newsletter says it is a good idea to put surnames in caps, so as to distinguish form first and last names that could be either. Does anyopne do this??
