The draw is that a number of us come down from the two daughters of Dr Thomas Wynne who settled in MD - Rebecca and Sydney. One of the best places to find records of early MD is the Hall of Records in Annapolis. The MD Historical Society in Baltimore nd the National Archives and DAR library in DC are also good resources as would be the Anne Arundel and Baltimore Historical Societies. These are all located relatively close to Annapolis. As Becky said - it's time to look at the girls! "Shuffling John" John Dickinson went from Talbot Co, MD to Kent Co, DELAWARE. His son, William Dickinson came down to Kent Co., MD-why, we`ll never know, but he died in Broadneck, Kent Co., MD, between Chestertown & Rock Hall, Kent Co., MD. Williams` son, Philemon (the first of several with this name). left DE and bought 140 acres on Shippen (sic) Creek, Kent Co., MD . Shippen Creek empties into the Chester River. Philemon`s brothers and several children came with him. My grandfather, Philemon was born at that location on Shippen Creek. Interesting, the nickname, "Shuffling John" was listed by the better know, John Dickinson, signer, Pres of PA & DE. A short-short description of my ancestors.
