Dear Cuz Susan, You said you knew someone that "He mentioned that his wife is descended from a Howard Wynn, Reading/Berks County PA, married to Sally (possibly Sarah?) McNeil, during latter half of 1800s and early 1900s." Well there is a "Howard" but he is really William Howard Wynn, and is SISTER is Sallie McNeil, and they show up in the 1930 Census with her children. so I started digging around... and I found that he is the child of Howard B. Wynn and Emma. William Howard Wynn never married. And it shows his nephew to have done his military burial. This is as far back as I could get with his dad Howard B Wynn... and I got stuck in 1880, when it shows him with his mother and STEP father..... But there are TWO William Eck's one from PA and one from Germany and both married to a Catherine or Katherine "Katie"..... at that point I decided to go shopping for Christmas balls for my new Christmas tree.. needed some cheer today.... So here you go.... hope it helps!! 1880 US Census, District 44, Reading, Berks Cty., PA Page 25 A, Supervisors Dist No 3, Enumeration Dist No 44 Enumerated 7th day of June 1880 111 Lemon St., 232/244 Eck, William W M 37 Head M Laborer PA PA PA Eck, Catherine W F 35 Wife Keeping House PA PA PA Winn Howard W M 18 Step-Son S Laborer PA PA PA 1895 pg 775 Boyd's Directory of Reading, Pennsylvania, 1895-1897 US City Directories: Wynn Edward P elk P & R h 820 Franklin Wynn Elizabeth wid William, h 820 Franklin Wynn Henry A asst trainmaster P & R h 937 Franklin Wynn Howard B laborer h rear 438 Water Wynn James Laborer h 200 Spruce Wynn Joseph M agt h 635 Willow Wynn Owen foreman h 325 Elm Wynn Samuel tinsmith h 415 Washington Wynn Samuel B laborer h 731 Church Wynn Samuel H tinsmith h 415 Washington Wynn Samuel L laborer h 736 Bingaman pg 776 Wynn Stephen Laborer h 635 Willow Wynn William H h 731 Church Wynn William h Jr laborer h 731 Chruch Wynne Charles P laborer h 846 Muhlenberg Wynne Elmer J driver h 431 S. 7th 1900 US Census, District 137, North Lebanon, Lebanon, PA Enumerated 12th, June 1900 Emeration Dist No 137, Supervisors Dist No 9, Sheet 12A, 226/236 Wynn, Howard Head W M Nov. 1862 37 M 17 PA PA PA Laborer Rolling Mill Wynn Emma Wife W F Jan 1863 37 M 17 6/4 PA PA PA Wynn Annie Daughter W F Sept 1894 15 S PA PA PA Wynn Sallie Daughter W F Mar. 1888 11 S PA PA PA Wynn William Son W M May 1892 8 S PA PA PA Wynn Robert Son W M Aug 1894 5 PA PA PA 1901 pg 874 Boyd's Directory of Reading, Pennsylvania, 1898-1901 US City Directories: Wynn Charles H Laborer h 731 Church Wynn Edward P foreman P & R h 821 N. Hi Cuz Becky, We're just returning from a week's trek and catching up on email. Thank you for your information here. I need to digest it and get back with Barry (the "someone") to see if we can connect some dots. Thank you for digging this out and forwarding it.
