Hey Connie, I think Becky has answered your question about my question. Since she had not included Chew Pierpoint in the chart she posted yesterday, I wanted to be sure my line was an accepted one. Sometimes I look at all this genealogy info I have collected and ask myself, what do I really know for sure? So, just wanted to make sure my Chew Pierpoint was accepted by y'all as being a child of Sidney Chew and Charles Pierpoint before I confuse everyone. My line as best I know is: Dr. Thomas Wynne and Martha Buttall Sydney Wynne and William Chew Sidney Chew and Charles Pierpoint Chew Pierpoint and Basel Deaver Abraham Deaver and Nancy Ann Lakin Susannah Deaver and Enoch Minshall Matilda A. Dear Cuz Connie, Nancy and I talked last night, the chart she is speaking of is the e-mail I sent under the title 12th reunion in Maryland at 10:22 am yesterday, where I was listing the Cuz's lines that would be in Maryland, and I only listed two of the children of Charles & Sidney Pierpoint.... But the reason I only showed those two, is those two are the ones with branches in the WGS group... and I missed Chew and a few others in making my quick chart.. heck they had 16 kids!!! Also as Nancy and I spoke last night I noticed that not only do we have the will that lists Chew, but we also have the marriage license that shows she married Basel Deaver. So I believe her questions were answered. Hugs Cuz B ttg-inc@tx.rr.com http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~ttg13/ "'Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass. Hi Becky and Everyone, (Mailing a CD of photos from the reunion to you tomorrow, Becky) Lots of information going out today, so I have a question. On the chart, the children of Sidney Chew and Charles Pierpoint are shown as Charles Pierpoint and Francis Pierpoint. As work goes forward on next year's reunion, are you considering Chew Pierpoint who married Basel Deaver as a valid child of Sidney Chew and Charles Pierpoint? Since that's my line, I need to know before I start sending Joe what I have on my line. Ed and I drove some of the back roads south of Annapolis after we left Philadelphia on Sunday. I had hoped to find some of the folks who work on the Lost Towns Project who have a lab at the Historic Londontowne, but no one was in the lab on Sunday. As Joan Bretz has stated in earlier emails, the Lost Towns Project is working on the site of the Samuel Chew estate Herrington. From what I had found online about the project, they bag up the materials at the dig and move them to the lab at Historic Londontowne for processing. After striking out there, we stopped at All Hallows Church Cemetery and then down to the Old Quaker Burying Ground (established 1672) near Galesville, Md, both cemeteries I had read about in researching my allied families. On a short stretch of MD Route 255 / Owensville Rd., we found Chews Chapel Road, Chew's Memorial United Methodist Church, and a roadside historic marker stating, "William Penn visited his Quaker friend William Richardson near this spot after the conference at Col. Thomas Tailler's Dec. 13, 1682. Lord Baltimore and the members of his council accompanied him to this place." The home of William Richardson was where Sydney Wynne and William Chew were married, according to the records we saw at Swarthmore. And, if I followed the trail of breadcrumbs correctly, the granddaughter of William Richardson, Sarah Richardson, married Francis Pierpoint, who appear on Becky's chart. I believe William Richardson is also connected to the Dickinson line that leads to the Charles H. Dickinson who dueled with Andrew Jackson. Just south of Herring Bay, we found the little of village of Chesapeake Beach, MD, where we had a meal at a resort complex. There is a nice hotel right on Chesapeake Bay there, several restaurants with the hotel, and various services available within walking distance of the hotel. Our server at the restaurant is a Maryland native and said that the resort is the closest one to the south of Annapolis, about a 20 minute drive to Annapolis. She said that BWI Airport is about a 45 minute drive from the resort. Becky, I'll include a brochure about this place when I mail the photo CD for your consideration. This hotel should be very close to the site of Samuel Chew's Herrington estate. Assuming that I have mapped out my line correctly, they were living in several areas of Maryland (at least as far north as Gunpowder Monthly Meeting, north of Baltimore), before the Deaver's removed to Ohio. Please let me know about Chew Pierpoint when you have a chance. Thanks much, Cousin Nancy On Tue, Oct 5, 2010 at 10:22 AM, <ttg-inc@tx.rr.com> wrote: > Dear Cuz Gary and others... here are some of the lines that are in Maryland > from the "girls". > > Dr. T's daughter Rebecca Wynne married 1st Solomon Thomas in Talbot > County, MD married 2nd John [II] Dickinson Talbot County MD they both died > in Talbot County MD > Through son John [III] Dickinson, 4 generations stayed in Talbot County > 2nd generation down Shuffling John Dickinson moved to Kent County MD > his son William Dickinson stayed in Kent County, MD > Williams son Philemon Dickinson died in Kent Cty MD > Philemon's son Philemon A. This river is on the Western Shore of the Chesapeake Bay, whereas, the Eastern Shore is where all this activity , i. e. Choptank, Easton, Trappe, Rock Hall are located. OK Rockey lets map these. The Preston family who figure into our collateral lines both before and after arrival first lived in what is today Lusby MD on the Western Shore. The Moore's and the Preston's lived in West River Maryland (Moore being descendants of Dr. Richard Moore who taught Dr. Thomas Wynne). Mordecai Moore(Who was taught by Dr. Thomas Wynne) for a while lived in Londontown. All the dog gone records are today in Annapolis. Dr. John Wynne who I still say is the BROTHER of Dr. Thomas Wynne died in what is now Salisbury MD. The daughters of Dr. Thomas Wynne(step and biological) landed in Choptank (It was an evil ploy and deception perpetrated by the captain of the vessel according to some of the welcome Claimant stories, or was it?). Third Haven meeting was in what is today Easton MD. Dr. Thomas and the Maude women plus Jonathan Wynne are all in records at Lewes Delaware. Cuz Joe is in Rock Hall and Cuz Gainor is in Lewes. Chambridge MD is right in the middle of the entire thing. That is our lesson for today Bullwinkle friend of the stinky Shrek AKA Cuz Connie Obviously in need of food and pepsi
