Becky, we are agreeable to paying for transportation costs & also for a concert but I haven't seen the e-mail about the concert but I ask Mayor Phillip of it would be possible to hear a Welsh male chorus sing so assume that is what this e-mail is about. He siad I could find lots of CDs of the chorus. Dear Becky, I am still waiting for the proof pages from DWNN that I referred to when joined Charlemagne. The Registrar found the references but I never got copies of those pages. Cousin Becky, As emailed earlier today, we'll be more than willing to use our car and follow the bus. That makes two more off the bus, hopefully everyone else will fit now. About the Charity Concert, it sounds like the attendance capacity is fairly limited if our 16/17 represents almost a fourth of the seating capacity. Is it even possible to get more tickets at this point?? We would really not want to miss any opportunity to hear and experience a Welsh choral program. Would be happy to share in the cost of buying more tickets if they're available. Take care, hugs, Cuz'n Susan -------------- Original message from "The Thill Group, Inc." <ttg-inc@comcast.net>: -------------- > Dear Cuz's, > > "Houston we have a problem." Becky, That is great on the transportation. On the concert: I vote on paying for the concert tickets or portion of them and splitting the cost. I have no problem with either one. I for one want to see the concert and hope all that are going, get to see it. It would be a shame that someone would have to miss it because of the cost, especially after getting to go all the way over there. On their raffle, wouldn't it be great for one of us to get some tickets and win a prize. We have 50/50 raffles all the time at our school events. You win half of the proceeds and the club/or organization gets the other half. They have earned a lot of money that way. If you find out the cost on the tickets from Mayor Phillip, let us know. Let him know too that we are excited on meeting him. Love Joyce Gail -----Original Message----- From: The Thill Group, Inc. Dear Cuz's, Family got in the way and I dropped the ball on getting the information out. Just wanted you to know there is a slight delay, kids are a wonderful thing. I should have things up by tomorrow. Dear Cuz Joyce Gail, Sounds great, I agree, I have already sent a e-mail to Mayor Phillip asking the ticket costs etc. On the run to the hair dresser. Cuz B -- 1. TRANSPORTATION. Happy to pay the $30-$40 petrol donation to anyone allowing me to ride in their car. Alternatively, will gladly prorate car rental with someone who has rented one. Or, I will rent a car at the airport with those of us who do not fit on the bus and share cost. I have driven in the UK before and lived to tell of it. 2. CHOIR. I would be loving the concert but not have my feelings hurt if not included (last on board). I would buy a ticket -- I think. Wait a minute. How much are they????? Dear Cuz's, Transportation: Problem: needed a volunteer car to follow bus. PROBLEM SOLVED, Susan & Cada Grove have volunteered to use their rental car to follow the bus with Alice Neff, and also to transport Janet Beard and Mary Alice Shaw to and from Caerwys with them. YEA GROVES!!! Transportation: Costs [we need a majority ok on paying the $30/$40.] Concert tickets, Your solution of paying for all our tickets or a portion and then splitting them should solve the problem, we would need a majority vote before I can send that to Mayor Phillip to see what he says. Will e-mail Mayor Phillip, after everyone else responds.. or at least we get an majority. My understanding is they also will have a raffle that you buy tickets for at the concert, just telling you so if you want to contribute you wont be surprised, but it is not a mandatory raffle. Cuz Becky: #1 - TRANSPORTATION/COST OF BUS No problem paying the $30/40 that would be required to cover the costs for fuel and transportation. #2 - TRANSPORTATION TO VARIOUS ACTIVITIES Will have no car, so will need to use the bus. #3 - MAYOR'S CHARITY CONCERT If everyone wants to attend the concert, my first option would be to buy the extra tickets that will be needed and split the cost among all of us attending the concert. We may also find that some will not want to go to the concert. Hope this helps. Cuz Ida
Dear Becky, 1. I have no problem with the bus cost. 2. How much is the tickets to the concert? Why can't we all at least pay half of the ticket to get in or pay for the extra tickets we need so everyone could go? Love Joyce Gail -----Original Message----- From: The Thill Group, Inc. [mailto:ttg-inc@comcast.net] Sent: Wednesday, April 05, 2006 2:15 AM To: WYNNE-GENEALOGY-SOCIETY-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [WGS] WALES Trip Members PLEASE RESPOND Dear Cuz's, "Houston we have a problem." Mayor Phillip has been graciously working very hard to make this Wales trip an experience of a lifetime for the Dr. Thomas Wynne descendants. Over the last year the numbers that were attending were all over the place. It settled down when it came to "Booking" the trip or actually putting a commitment to the trip, with the numbers dropped very drastically, from a count of 100 down to a count of 16/17 people. That number stayed there for several weeks, Mayor Phillip and myself figured that would be the final number. He then started a great campaign of getting things finalized making this a special trip, at a very, very low cost, if it cost us at all. Bravo Mayor Phillip!! Then we had a last spurt of people. [No we are not asking anyone not to go, so don't go there, hear me out!] This is not a problem "IF" we realize the complications that it causes Mayor Phillip, and as long as we all realize that we are going to have to work together to get the opportunities that he is making available to us. I am taking responsibility of causing Mayor Phillip the problems that we now have to deal with. But I am asking the good hearted WGS Cuz's to step up to the plate and help me and in turn Mayor Phillip out. These are the problems and my suggested solutions. Please read them carefully and then respond with what you feel you can do to help us out. TRANSPORTATION: Going to/from Caerwys to the Manchester Airport. Tour Bus costs; money was received to pay for our bus. When WGS member numbers reduced, this was great because funds would be enough to get us a smaller bus with out the licensing costs, size restraints and fuel costs that a large tour bus would be. There will be enough money to pay for a 16/17-passenger bus for us to use for the entire visit. YEA!!! Way to go Mayor Phillip! There is an exception, the cost of petrol/fuel for the bus and the luggage van. [The luggage van will be needed to get our luggage to and from the airport; it will not fit in the bus.] Solution: Each WGS member who uses the bus for transpiration to and from the airport, for touring, plus transportation to events in our honor pays a fuel charge. Mayor Phillip feels that $30.00 to $40.00 US dollars, per person would cover the excess costs. This cost is less than what it costs for a taxi to our airport. I don't feel that is a bad cost for all the running around that we are going to do! DO YOU AGREE? Please respond. Transportation to various activities and touring Group size, we have 23 WGS guests going and a bus that will only hold 16/17 people. I have asked Mayor Phillip to inform me if it is 16 and the driver or 17 and the driver. Should hear from him soon. Solution: Several members have access to personal cars or rental cars. If they would volunteer to use them, following the bus to our various activities we could handle the extra people and everyone would get to everything. We need a reduction of seven [7] people from the bus. Either they don't go and or we use the personal cars. Incentive: if they volunteer their car then they will not have the transportation fuel charge of $30 to $40 US dollars. A great savings to their rental car cost and/or fuel costs. Alice Neff who has a total of five people has graciously volunteered to use their cars for her five people. We only need two people to use their cars to help out. WILL THE PEOPLE WITH CARS VOLUNTEER PLEASE? Please respond. MAYORS CHARITY CONCERT Mayor Phillip asked the committee of the Charity Concert he hosts in March to move the concert to May and allow us 16/17 free tickets, so that we can have the experience of hearing the wonderful welsh choirs they are famous for. They agreed to the cost of the 16/17 tickets to be absorbed into the administrative costs and allow the decrease in profits due to losing near a fourth of their seating to us. Our numbers went up to 23 and bottom line it is too much for their budget. Solution: We have 17 WGS members, 4 spouses, and 2 friends attending which brings us to 23 guests for this concert. We can stipulate that only the WGS members can attend the concert. But I would like for any one that really doesn't mind not going to the concert to step forward first. If everyone chooses to go, then we will have to ask the spouses and friends to stay home from the concert. PLEASE LET US KNOW IF YOU DON'T MIND NOT GOING TO THE CONCERT. Please Respond. I believe that is all the problems, if you would kindly step forward and respond to the problems I would greatly appreciate it and I know that Mayor Phillip would appreciate our help with these items. Mayor Phillip has been telling me all the great things he has planned for us and we are going to have a jam packed great time on our visit to Caerwys!!! Wait till you hear all we are going to get to do and all we are going to get to see, wow, I am overwhelmed with it all. Please help me out in making these few adjustments. The locals are already doing so much for us that why not (a) buy the extra tickets so everyone can go or (b) purchase all of our tickets to they can have a higher profit from the concert. To purchase the five or six extra tickets, assess each of us a portion so it seems we have a discount ticket not a free one. What is the per ticket charge? Dear Cuz Mary Alice, Yes. Betty McGehee, Linda Shabo already have their memberships, and were approved by the "Order of The Crown Of Charlemagne in the United States of America. They have taken two different paths to him, which adds great credit to our lineage. I am in the process of getting mine. They had the 66th Annual dinner in Washington DC April 2005. You can read about the Order of the Crown of Charlemagne at http://www.charlemagne.org/ And you can talk to Betty and Linda in Wales.
