    2. The Thill Group, Inc.
    3. Dear Cuz Mary Alice, We will have only about three hours at the Archives, and it is a very small place, we are going to have full staff to help us plus Hazel Formby the local genealogy guru, helping us, which will help... What we usually do is assign each person a task of looking through either books microfiche what ever and writing up the slips of paper for them to pull us the copies, we pull everything that is Wynne based and or related spouses. We will be working specifically on three generations, i.e. Dr. T's fathers, Dr. T's and Tabitha's... Any thing else we find is extra sweets. Once we see how many of the 10 people are needed to cover those bases then the others can look up what they wish, as long as their requests don't hamper the archivist from pulling the Wynne stuff. When we do this requesting, we don't spend a lot of time figuring out if it is ours or not, or how it is related we pull all for that specific area, we can weed out the extra's later, but this way nothing gets missed, and it helps us to see the other lines that were in that area, so we know the others in the area and tell our guys from their guys. The thing about this trip that will be different is that we will have to split up the cost of the copies, where as at the past reunions I have paid for them either out of my pocket or the funds of the WGS. With the plaques that I am getting for the City of Caerwys and Mayor Phillip etc there will not be the extra cash available for that. But it shouldn't cost any one of the group more than $5-8 dollars. But what great documents. Also we will not have copiers there to make copies for everyone like we do at the usual reunions so I will bring the documents home to Texas and copy/send them to who ever wants them. 3. Dear Cuz Mary Alice, HA HA HA Don't feel bad we all have sent a e-mail to the group by accident at least once. Always look at the address in the TO box of the e-mail before you send a private message it should be addressed to me at ttg-inc@comcast.net if it says Wynne-Genealogy-Society-L@rootsweb.com then it is being shared not only with the group, but also goes into the archives forever. For the Newbies we have an archives of every e-mail sent for WGS that you can search if you want to look back and search to see what was sent about your guys. 3. Dear Becky, For myself, I would love to go to the archives and was looking forward to it. There were several things/names I was wanting to find besides our main thing of research on Dr Thomas and Martha Buttall. But IF you need me to step down. Love Joyce Gail -----Original Message----- From: The Thill Group, Inc. [mailto:ttg-inc@comcast.net] Sent: Friday, April 07, 2006 1:13 AM To: WYNNE-GENEALOGY-SOCIETY-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [WGS] WALES - Archives - ALL RESPOND!!! Dear Cuz's, I had mentioned that we are trying to go to the Archives in Hawarden to do research. We are going. Mayor Phillip has arranged for Hazel Formby the Local Historian/Genealogy Guru of the Caerwys Area, to go with us. She has a major genealogy column in the local papers etc. She is also the wonderful lady that gave Mayor Phillip the copy of the Wynne Bible when we were fighting Gary Boyd Roberts. The Archives will be closed to the public, only we will be allowed in during our time. Hooray Mayor Phillip!!! Problem [seems there is always one doesn't there!!] The archives and their machines can only handle 12 people efficiently, then minus two more places for Mayor Phillip and Hazel Formby... leaves us with only 10 places. Solution: We remove the spouses, friends etc. [23 going - sp. & Fr. = 17] We then take volunteers to step out of the count. So far Joyce [Queenie] and Susan Wright have already stepped down. Both said they would go, but they don't need to go, and are happy to chill out that morning because that is the same day as the County reception in Mold and also the Concert in Mold, among other things so it will be non stop from morning till night. With not going to the Archives you would start your day with us at noon other wise your day will start with us at 8:30am. At the archives we will be doing as we have in the past we will divide up with each having tasks of looking through a set of records which will then be copied and then we will be able to share with all of us. So your not going is not going to leave you out of getting a copy of something. These are 17 actual WGS members going to Wales: 1 Alice Neff 2 Debbie Hunter 3 Linda Shabo 4 Joan Bretz 5 Merle Millheim 6 Amy Humphries 7 Becky Wynn Thill 8 Joyce Quigley - Not Going 9 Vi Grooms-Alban 10 Ida Cann 11 Betty McGehee 12 Joyce Gail Stewart 13 Sharon Underhill 14 Susan Grove 15 Susan Wright - Not Going 16 Janet Beard 17 Mary Alice Shaw Minus Joyce [Queenie] and Susan Wright. we now have 15 members applicable to go to the Archives. We need five members to step down so we have 10. PLEASE RESPOND if you want to go OR don't want to go. I want ALL TO RESPOND one way or another. 3. Hey, Cuz -- It's me. I was out partying with my high school girl friends yesterday and my son and friends here all Friday night with the computers all tied up, so just now responding to your request. I would like to do this, however..... I must tell you. I think these other ladies are more dedicated genealogists than I am, so you can take me off the list for the GOOD of us all! I love it, but am a bit of a dabbler. Also, I am kind of a perfectionist, which makes me kind of slow. (Mom always said, "Mary Alice -- slow as molasses, it's like waiting for Christmas.") And since you really expect to get something accomplished, it would be good to have someone who is going to produce! Furthermore, since I have not done near so much work as these ladies, they already have more knowledge than I do. I only ever did do some amount of research at Somerset House in London over a couple lunch hours, but with zero instruction. Totally flew by the seat of my pants. If I could figure out how, perhaps this would be a good chance to try to hitchhike down to old Welsh Newton Church and back by lunch. OK, well maybe that IS a bit ambitious. I DID in fact look at the map and there does appear to be a bit of distance on the map -- although I have still not done the Mapquest thing. Well, I did not wish to share all my insecurities with all the ladies, so just wrote you. Thanks. 3. Dear Cuz Alice, By your graciously volunteering your car and Cada/Susan Grove doing so, transportation is no longer an issue. I thank you both very much, good troops you are! As to the Concert. I told Mayor Phillip the thoughts that had so far been expressed here as a group, the majority have spoken. He says that he wants to pay for the max they can but we will have to pick up the difference. Which is fair. The tickets are $8.50 a piece. Princess Alice our group started this with the "All for one, One for all" attitude. I was invited to come to Wales, I asked the WGS to go to Wales with me, this was done with the intention that we could bring who we wanted and pay for our group individually so it wouldn't effect things. We did not know there was going to be a space problem..this did not change until the structure of a couple events caused a hitch on how many freebee's they could give out... SO.. on that it is the standard practice when the WGS members come to a crunch we all share the problem and solve it as a group. No one gets left out or doesn't get their share. Which translates to: We will ALL share the cost of the tickets that are needed extra", that is just how we work. The Mayor wants to comp the ones he can in the budget..so we will let him. I now have to figure out how many we need to purchase etc. I need to update the chart. OH also I need to know are the Jones going to the concert also? Also I want to point out your not the last in Mary Alice Shaw is the last in =), but with this solution we all get to go and it is not a problem. I will get back to the group and tell everyone what the splits will be. The biggest thing I want to stress is NO ONE caused this, so everyone put the guilt brushes away, It is just something that happens when you organize these things, par for course.. it is how we all handle it that says who we are. And the WGS jumped up and stood the ground, as always we stay together as a group! Thanks Cuz's As to the raffle he says: "You ask about the raffle - generally people would put in anything up to £5.00 ( 8.5 dollars ) - the same price as the ticket. So if you members are happy to say purchase £5.00 worth of raffle tickets, but not anymore ! - hopefully they will win a prize and if its chocolates, they can be eaten on the bus the next day !!" So any that want can do the raffle can do so which will help them out. 3. Hi all, Thank you all for working so hard to include us in the festivities. We will have a car, so we will not need space on the bus. If there are not enough tickets to the concert, then we, as the last to join the group, should be excluded. The offer for everyone to chip it to buy the extra tickets is very kind, but we can probably buy our own tickets, if there are tickets available. Also, my friends will do something else if only Debbie and I can go to the concert. We are very easy to get along with.
