Hi Becky: Is this the picture of the house that has been put on the National Register? I went to Kinko's and got a very nice print of the certificate. But I would like to put a picture of the correct place with the certificate. I have seen so many things in Deem's and elsewhere of pictures of Wynnestay. I'm confused, I guess; but I want to be correct in this. I am so pleased that this certification has happened this quickly; good job. Cuzin, Violet

Quite a bit. The patriarch was Fred Renard Sr. He was born in Cologne Germany in 1819, had a colorful youth, emigrated to the US in 1847, settled in Watertown WI then moved to Nebraska a few years later. He was a wealthy farmer and banker in Nebraska and lived to be 94. He had just one sister who died young so he seems to us to be the patriarch. He married a lady named Anna Wolf, I know nothing of her except she came from Hannover Germany. They had 10 children. His mother's name was Pauli, they were a prominent family in the Cologne area.
