    1. [WGS] "How To" folder
    2. Dear Cuz's, As always, I am thinking about organization on my computer. Just as a helpful hint, I thought I would let you know what I do with the e-mails that contain "How To" instructions. I create a folder on my desktop, naming it "HOW TO". I then save the e-mails I create giving instructions how to do something, in this folder. That way I can find it when someone needs it and I can send the instructs to the group again with out retyping it all. For you it would be a great place to put these e-mails, so you can find them when you need them. If you want to do this... I will give you here the instructions to create a "How To" folder on your desktop. 1. Your Desktop: When your computer is booted up and ready to use, the screen you see is called the desktop. It is the background for all programs and contains the commands needed for accessing those programs. To learn about your "Desktop" click this link: http://resources.kaboose.com/brain/comp-les8b.html 2. RIGHT click your mouse on an empty area of your "Desktop". 3. A menu opens 4. Click NEW, a menu opens 5. Click "FOLDER", it should be at the top of the list with a manilla folder image next to it. 6. Look on your "Desktop", there should be a picture of a manilla folder, with a white box under it, with the words "New Folder", typed in the white box. 7. Click on the white box and Type in the name "HOW TO". 8. Click on any other area of the "Desktop" and that window will release and your new name of "HOW TO" should show below that manilla folder. 9. When you have an e-mail with instructions, save this to that "How To" folder on your "Desktop". This way they are all in one place. Hint: Always look at the "Title" line of the e-mail when saving it. Change it to what make sense to you, because that will now be the title of that e-mail, and what you will be seeing in the "How TO" folder. 10. When you need your instructions, open the "HOW TO" folder and choose the appropriate e-mail that gives you the instructions you need. Hope this helps! 2. Dear Cuz Sue, Wonderful!! Thanks for that, I didn't know that option was available in Word, as I didn't notice the "Picture" choice in the toolbars before. Once you have pasted into word, you will need to click on the image you just pasted. When you do this, you should see the Picture Toolbar appear. On this picture toolbar is a box that looks like double X's at an angle. If you put your mouse over it, the word crop should appear. Click on it. Then you can adjust your picture (crop) the same way you would resize a picture, by using the corners and edges of the picture. Hope this helps.

    1. [WGS] Print Screen & Crop, in Word Doc
    2. Dear Cuz Jimmie Bill Let me walk you through doing a print screen in Word... 1. You see something on a webpage 2. Click "Print Screen SysRq" button [top row to the right on keyboard] 3. Open Word 4. Open document 5. Click "EDIT" [top row] Edit menu opens 6. Click "PASTE" 7. "Print Screen" is now on your word document as a image 8. Click "VIEW" [top row], View menu opens 9. Chick "Toolbars", Toolbar list opens 10. Click "Picture", Picture toolbar should open on the top or bottom on your window frame showing tool that you can use on the image of the "Print Screen". 11. Click the "Print Screen" image on your Word document, to choose it. 12. Choose the "Crop" tool, from the new Picture toolbar. Look at the Toolbars now in the top section of your Word Window frame, you should find a double X symbol, the X's are stacked and angled to the right. 13. Place the "Crop" tool over the "Sizing handle" and drag. [Sizing Handle is the little square at each corner when you click on the image to choose it to edit.] 14. Click on the blank area of the Word Doc to Turn the tool off. 15. Click on the blank area of the Word Doc to get back to the typing area. 14. When done, save Word Doc. Ok... I have just done this to be sure to Instruct Jimmie Bill... Things I noted. 1. The Crop tool, which is wonderful, will only allow you to drag in the side edges until you have just what you want showing. 2. I find it cumbersome, BUT I am a photo editor big time and use Print Shop Pro or PhotoShop to edit my photos...and use it on the Print screen items. Ok hope this helps. 1. Re: [WGS] CTRL, Print Screen....
    2. But if you only want just a .... say small chart or a image... On my monitor that is 22 inches wide and I do print screen it don't know what I want it copies the WHOLE monitor screen.... well I don't want all that..only the chart or image so I crop it down to only what I want. 1. [WGS] CTRL, Print Screen....
    2. Also a reminder... when using the Print Screen...you are getting a image of the WHOLE SCREEN... when you paste it... so if there is a lot of junk on your MONITOR SCREEN... then all of that shows too.... That is why I take it into the photo editing program, and CROP it down to only the part I really wanted. Where as if you just do a paste into something everything is going to be in there.
