I am assuming that we are looking at northern Winn families since her parents were both born in Pennsylvania according to census records. We do have a family document that has it spelled Winne but it was done for DAR genealogy over a hundred years ago and there are lots of mistakes in it. Since she was simply a notation because her daughter married Tallmadge Norwood and that family had the genealogy and roots for the DAR membership. Barb S

Hi all of you Wynn/Winn folks, I have been excited to see that so many people are researching the Indiana records for Wynn families of all spellings. I am still searching for Elizabeth Winn, born in Ohio in 1820 and married in Indiana, St. Joseph County 1836 to Peter Campbell. The marriage is the first time we can find any records of Elizabeth Winn but we have so much information from then on it is incredible. The couple moved to Rochester Wisconsin and are very well documented there. According to census reports Elizabeth' parents were born in Pennsylvania. It is hard to find a female listed by name in early records and we have been stone walled finding her family with absolutely no leads to point anywhere. The book for the marriage records for that time has disappeared in the last few years so we are unable to get the names of people associated with the marriage although, very early in my search when I did not know enough to save things properly someone sent me some information from Indiana indicating that Denton Davis and Barbara Replogle were witness to the marriage. They both ended up in Rochester too and may have more than a friendship link to Elizabeth Winn and Peter Campbell. I believe a minister by the name of Rev. Wolf married them. Since Elizabeth married at such a young age I don't think that Winn was a married name from another marriage. (Elizabeth's children were named William Henry, Adelia and Emma Maline Campbell. Sometimes there are first name links too. Thanks for reading this.....again. I have always heard that what we are looking for is sitting on someone's desk! I know that Elizabeth had a family out there someplace! B.Sidler
Cuz Gary I am washing the pillow cases from the snipe hunt last night, glad you joined us. Cuz Connie
Who's on First? Looks like yall just ran into a geneology maize handed down from the Welsh, reportedly inherited by them from the Druids who used this logic to mystify the leprechauns who repaid retributions for indescressions upon them by torturing the owner's cows (a blight which continues to this day, in Texas, commonly referred to as "Cow Tipping")! I ran into a similar befuddle several years back, researching one of my lines, and wrote this exposee: Cuz Gary Why Am I Confused? It is no wonder it is so hard to research family ancestory, especially when everyone is long gone, and with those ancient ones having so many children. Here is an example that I diagrammed from info on Ancestry.com, relative to some of my ancestors Amos Glover married Drusilla Spurgeon and they had nine children. Four of the nine were a son named William Glover, a daughter named Mary Glover, a son named Richard Glover, and another son named Amos Glover. Jacob Moyers married Margaret Hazlett. They had a daughter named Barbara Moyers, a son named Samuel Moyers, and a daughter named Mary Ann Moyers. Barbara Moyers married William Glover. They had a daughter named Mary Ann Glover. Samuel Moyers married Mary Glover, daughter of Amos, so then Mary's married name was Mary Moyers. They had a son named Amos Moyers. Amos Glover's son Richard also had a son named Amos Glover. William Glover's son William married a girl named Mary Ann who's married name was Mary Ann Glover. Richard Glover had a son named William Glover and another son named Amos Glover. Richard's son Harrison had a daughter named Mary Glover. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, August 07, 2009 7:11 AM Subject: Re: [WGS] Leander Wynn 25 M OH > OK This is how I am seeing what you are saying Becky and Jimmie Bill. Just so you all know I am not arguing with Becky or Jimmie Bill I just have to get this straight in the notes while we wait for some DNA results. THANKS Becky and Jimmie Bill PS when we get to Warner you all are going to hate it and Gwynt is Fart can I say that on here?. HUGZ Cuz Connie
OK This is how I am seeing what you are saying Becky and Jimmie Bill. Just wack it down if wrong. You are saying there are 2 Leana Winn/Wynne/Wynn's that both have sons named James born within the same 5 year period and that BOTH Leana's Leanna Ford and Leana Latchaw are the same age and that both are born in OH. Both Women end up single in 1850. Leanna Ford is enumerated twice once as a male Leander and once with her family Ford. Leanna Ford is associated with Warner who is last seen on records in January of 1850 and that Leanna Latchaw is associated with Nimrod. Add to the mixture that there is also a male Leander Winn. That was simple why didn't you just say so :) Now I would like to ask for a life line Meredith and Regis and ask for help in picking which WARNER! Your cousin Shrek the windy green Gwynting fellow Connie
Ok so say I buy that, then what about the male Leander??? who is alive and well at the same time??? What is our explanation for this?? Who is Leana Ice? Shrek

I've not been able to find a 1860 census for the Abe Wynn family, but John Wynn' s (brother to Isaac) pension file says the family was living near Fortville, IN at that time. Isaac disappears after 1880, maybe he did the vanishing act with those other like minded Isaac's! P.S. Additional things... There is no other Winn, Wynn, or Ford in the 1850 census of Cass County IN. Cass County to Howard County is 34.6 miles on US 25 Cass County to Warren County is 75.6 miles on US 25 Warren County to Howard County is 73 miles on US 26 AND WHY Would she be in Cass County??? I know why they were in Warren County.. cause the 1850 US Census, Williamsport, Warren Cty., IN Has Warner Wynn's three brothers are also living there in one household together... Isaac Wynn Washington Wynn [George Washington Wynn] Jackson Wynn [James Jackson Wynn] Was she burying him.. was she visiting? couldn't be as the three are the only three in that household... so .....
