    2. This is the old message. The MtDNA test for the full panel is over $400. We could start with the $99 test and upgrade later. There is a little money in the general fund. Lets put this out there again and give it about a week again. YES Merle you are!!!! We need to get your DNA so that we have Martha's out there for the future. OOOOH gee I am soooo excited. Now can all of us chip in an get this done??? _http://www.familytreedna.com/group-general-fund-contribution.aspx_ (http://www.familytreedna.com/group-general-fund-contribution.aspx) Just put money into the General Fund with FTDNA even $5 is cool. Pick W scroll down to Winn (It is down there) and note it is to get Princess Extraordinary Merle/Martha Butall tested. Merle it should take a week or so to get the money into the General fund then you order the test by invoice. HOW exciting!!!!! Cuz Connie [email protected]_ (mailto:[email protected])

    1. [WGS] DNA results
    2. We have new results posted for Dr. Thomas Wynne DE/PA _http://www.familytreedna.com/public/winn/default.aspx?section=yresults_ (http://www.familytreedna.com/public/winn/default.aspx?section=yresults) For those of you who have been following there are 3 Warner Wynne's about the same time period and Geographic area. There is Becky's brother's line and the Warner associated with that line. There was another person tested outside our little surname project from a Warner Wynn with a different DNA type who had a paper trail to Dr. Thomas Wynne. The two DNA's from Jerry and Rick did not match this third person tested outside our surname project. We located a descendant from the Jonathan/Thomas Wynne line since there are only the two possibilities as sons of Jonathan. The test says YEP Rick (Becky's brother) and Jerry have the same YDNA. So for this test we all have the same paper trail and DNA that is sooo nice. Any of you who want can donate to the general fund. Cuz Connie

I read it as "cordwainer" but the enumerator was very sloppy about what he dotted! Jane P.S. There are tricks in searching for "Mc" names: (1) leave a space between the small "c" and the next capitalized letter ---- i.e. "Mc K" (2) replace the small "c" with an apostrophe or omit it altogether (3) drop the second capital letter, running it together --- "Mcnight"

Hi, Christine, I do not know who submitted those records to the LDS, but I do recall connecting with a Hugh researcher who lived in CA back in 1997 and she told me that she had made a trip home to Fairchance and had interviewed relatives. I got the sense from what she wrote that she was assuming that these respondents were accurate! Since then, I've tried to be cautious and rely on records as much as possible; however, there can be errors in those, too. It is best to find multiple sources, three if possible, is the rule of thumb. >I have John and Hannah son William Obt died 8/27/1941. But no information on her. That's excellent, Christine. I've not tried to follow this branch very far. Wow, I've just found her. I have what I thought might be another John McKnight m. Missouri CONN. From "Vance-Brownfield Funeral Home Records, Main Street, Smithfield, PA, 1892-1981" p. 64, there is a funeral home record for Jennie KREMER widow of Thompson Kremer. She was b. 5-6-1879 d. 4-6-1939 dau. of John McKnight and Missouri Conn; buried in Mt. Moriah Baptist Cem. So, this Jennie would be yet another half sister, one who predeceased William. I had found Jennie in the 1930 Census of Smithfield listed with her husband: Washington Way, #303-251, ED 84, Smithfield, Fayette, PA; 50 b. PA; parents b. PA. Thompson died 1/16/1936; that's on p. 59 of the same Vance book; his parents are listed as Frank Kremer and Anna Wilson. The Fairchance and Smithfield funeral home books are available from Closson Press. You can find those online at: http://www.clossonpress.com/index.jsp The person who transcribed these records is Kathryn Cooley Miller. If you just type her name into the Search box, then this set of books should be found easily. There are also lots of gravestone photos online now for Fayette which are incredibly useful, especially for cemeteries not listed in published books. http://www.usgennet.org/usa/pa/county/fayette/headstones/index.html >Oh I hope I am doing this right. Yes, you are, Christine! Best regards, Cuzin Jane
