Thank you Becky for the great reunion. You do so much work for the family. I want you to know that I really appreciate it. Debbie and I and her family had a lot of fun and enjoyed getting to know most of you that were there. Perhaps sometime you would all like to come to Salt Lake and visit the family history library there. If there is ever anything I can look up for you at the library, please let me know. Thanks again to all who helped make the reunion so much fun. Love, Alice
Cuz Becky, I hope you all have a great time and wish I could be there. Will the CD's from Wynnestay be on sale for those of us that cannot be there? One day I will get to one of these reunions! I'm getting ready to leave also. Will make a stop at the office in Alexandria. Plan to leave from there about noon. That should give me plenty of time to make the trip north to Philly. If I get there early, I'll come to the hotel first; then go to the airport to pick up Cousin Terry. See you all soon. The Uwchlan Meeting House was erected in 1756 by the Society of Quakers (Friends). During the Revolutionary War, it was used as a hospital for the sick soldiers. The Monthly Meeting was discontinued in 1901 and the building was sold. It is now on the National Historic Register. In 1973, the Women's Community Club of Uwchlan bought the building and continues to hold meetings and community events in it. I think the outside of the building still appears much as it did when it was constructed in 1756. Terry and I know that some of our Vance ancestors attended this Meeting in the late 1700's. Since it is located very close to where many Wynne's lived, I guess it is quite possible that they could have attended there also---provided they had remained Quakers in good standing. Unfortunately, our Vance boys must have misbehaved and the four of them got kicked out of Meeting----never to return again. The area we are going to is the "Marsh farm" that keeps being referred to in several sources, and keeps peaking peoples interest...i.e. where is it??? And because Merle's daughter lives are there in the area, there has been comparison of where she lives and where it is, and could she be on old Wynne land and not know it etc etc.... As to the Meeting house, Ida has set that up for us, and it is a meeting house in the area of Marsh farm to easy to incorporate in our day.
