    1. [WGS] 11th reunion... arriving home
    2. Dear Cuz's, Once again another reunion has come and gone. Great Memories to store, pictures to sort, clothes to wash and life to get back to. I want to thank you all for coming, sharing and creating more great WGS memories! Didn't I tell you that Mayor Phillip was a hoot!!! Watching people react to his robes and chains was such fun. And the surprise to Elaine was just perfect!! Isn't she a sweetie! She is the reason that we have the connection to the Wynnestay. On our first trip to Philadelphia, she was the one that went to the Wynnestay and knocked on their door and asked if we could come visit, and the passing years and contact with Skip and Robert have really made the Wynnestay connection even more alive for us all. Remember to send me copies of all your pictures so that I can put them on our website and share with everyone!!! My Hubby Jerry took the film to Wal-Mart to get them developed so that I could get the pics with Mayor Phillip from the Banquet to you .. and guess what!! WAL-MART doesn't develop film any more, they don't even have the machines any more!!! Told we have to go to CVS or Walgreen's for development!! I was shocked!!! But I will get it done on Monday so we can all share. Remember Send me all your photos!!! Prefer in digital format..but I can scan in regular photo copies too... but get them this way so I can post them!! I got home last night, a day earlier then hubby Jerry was expecting but Mom/Shirley and I wanted to get home!!! Will be sharing what I found in Harrisburg and in Cambridge with you guys soon!! Cuz Joan II, we didn't get to Harrisburg till late and actually stayed in Mechanicsburg as they had no rooms on the Harrisburg side.. then went straight to courthouse the next am, then were on the road to Cambridge by 1 pm... so didn't get a chance to call and hook up with you, sorry we didn't have more time, and again thank you for the invite to stay. From Cambridge we went straight south to Charlotte then west to Nashville and then on to Memphis, Little Rock, and then on to Dallas, so Cuz Joyce Gail, we didn't get in your neck of the woods or we would have called for you to meet us on the highway!! Love you sweetie. Great trip, great reunion, glad to see everyone. Sad news on the way home when heard of Martha's passing, Cuz Joe you know you and yours are in our heart thoughts and prayers. Love to all Hugs Cuz B... glad to be home to her own bed!!! ttg-inc@tx.rr.com http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~ttg13/ "'Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass. 3. Dear Joe and family, Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. We so enjoyed visiting with you at the reunion. What a dedicated Wynne to drive the distance to see "family". You have nearly 60 years of cherished memories with Martha to treasure. That is a blessing. May God give you and your family peace and comfort. 3. Dear Joe, Ed and I send our deepest condolences in the loss of your dear Martha. May God comfort your heart and put His arms around your whole family at this time. Joe, you are such a gem. As the new kids, it was neat for us to see how all the cousins love and respect you, like they see you as the elder statesman of the group. We will continue to keep you in our prayers. 3. Dear Terry, I just emailed Joe today to tell him I was sorry that I missed telling him goodbye. I told him to take care of himself and Martha too. And for him to tell Martha thanks for sharing him with us. This news just breaks my heart. Joe and family will most certainly be in my thoughts and prayers. Terry, thanks so much for letting us know. It was a brief note, but he expressed that she had passed quickly and did not suffer. She had been having some health related issues the past few years, and had recently been put on oxygen. We are all just so glad that Joe was able to return home before her passing. Joe had been a faithful participant at many of the reunions over the years, and I am proud to say that we were always room mates. Like many of our spouses, Martha did not join him, but she supported his genealogy hobby. I know that I speak for all of us during this very sad time in expressing our sincere condolences and sorrow at her passing........we are all family and a loss for any is a loss for us all. 3. Alice: I looked arou,nd through the FamilySearch.org that you noted. It has both Owen Hugh and Mary Ann Todd in there, but it dead-ends with them and does not show their ancestors. Owen, born ~ 1744 in East Nantmeal Twp. death 13 Oct. 1774 Mary Ann, born 15 Apr. 1776 in Fayette Co PA. This is troublesome, since we have always thought that she was born in Montgomery Co, which is where some of Mary Todd Lincoln's ancestors were. The Montgomery Co. came from the belief that her home would have been near where she married Isaac. It is listed in the Deems writings that they were married in Berks Co. 08 Aug. 1793. The LDS researcher does not give a reference for his info. In any event, Owen had land in Fayette, and after he and Hannah were married, he died when Isaac was only 3 yrs old. Hannah returned to the east, and married a Millard. Presumably, she took Isaac with her and it would have been after he married Mary Ann that they went west and assumed Owen's properties in Fairchance. This is speculation, but one source had Isaac's father as being "Thomas" , perhaps errantly because he could have lived with his uncle Thomas Wynne who had property in Fairchance also. Nother thing I failed to mention on my Lincoln expo is that Lincoln's ancestors were related to Daniel Boone's ancestors which puts another ring in the Philly - Fairchance - Kentucky triangle! 2. _http://chester.pa-roots.com/townships/west_nantmeal_township_chester_c.htm_ (http://chester.pa-roots.com/townships/west_nantmeal_township_chester_c.htm) The earliest tax transcript that seems to be on record is that of the year 1722. It is of interest to note the name of Mordecai Lincoln on the original tax lists (1720 to 1725). He was married to Hannah Salter Lincoln and they had a daughter named Hannah Lincoln and a son John, who was the grandfather of Abraham Lincoln. Other children were named Deborah, Mary Anne and Sarah. This line of descent marks Mordecai Lincoln as Abraham Lincoln’s great grandfather and places Hannah Lincoln Millard as his great-aunt. Hannah was also the great grandmother of Thomas Millard and was married to Joseph Millard. Many present residents of West Nantmeal Township trace their ancestry to Hannah and Joseph Millard. The name is familiar throughout the area and it appears that the Millard family has been established here since the early 1700’s. The child Deborah was born in 1717 and died in 1720. She was buried in the old Jemison burying ground in Monmouth County, N.J. Shortly after Deborah’ s death, Mordecai moved his family to Pennsylvania. His land was described as lying near "the branches of the French Creek and the Brandywine in Chester County, Pa." In 1725, he was one-third owner of the Coventry Forge, which he sold to a partner on December 14, 1725 for 500 pounds. His-wife Hannah died in Coventry Township in 1727 and in 1729 he married Mary, who it is thought, was a daughter of Andrew Robeson. Mordecai leased a 1,000 acre tract in neighboring Exeter Township, Berks County, which he later purchased in May, 1730. The house he built there in 1733 is still standing and bears the inscription "ML-1733." It appears that Mordecai then left West Nantmeal Township and took up residence in nearby Berks County.
