Author: Echo9232 Surnames: Bomar Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.wyoming.counties.crook/140/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I'm curious about the area called "The Bear Lodge" located about 7 miles north of Sundance, Wyoming. What would draw a young man to this area in 1910? How could I locate records about a man who may have been working at one of these mines in 1910-1911? Looking for relative James Walter Samuel Bomar and his wife Neva E. (Rucker) who were living in this area in September 1910. Their daughter Neva Marie "Marie" Bomar was there. I understand there were a number of mines in this area, but I don't know the time frames that they most were in operation: - Bear Lodge Gold Mining Co (about 7 miles N. Sundance) - Hurricane Mining District (3 small placer mines 10 miles N. Sundance, operating 1909, etc.) - Roenna Mining Co of Tinton - The Copper Prince (about 7 miles N. Sundance) - Hutchins Consolidated Gold Mining Co. (about 7 miles N. Sundance) Thank you in advance. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Lee Schloredt was the pharmacist and owner of either "Fawkes Drugstore" or "Lee's Pharmacy" It was a long time ago, I remember there were two drugstores, Fawkes and Lee's. I am thinking that he probably owned Lees Pharmacy. My uncle was the book keeper for many businesses in town. His name was Frank Cubbison. He was confined to a wheel chair. Downtown Sundance was elevated about 4 ft above the dirt roads. Lee's Pharmacy was located across from the courthouse (from which the Sundance Kid escaped and got his name. Next door to Lee's Pharmacy was "Model Groceries" The town put ramp in at every corner to make it handicapped accessible for my uncle. Every store had a ramp over the threshold entry.. Author: huntancestor54 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.wyoming.counties.crook/137/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hey fellow Ancestor Hunters! I've been doing Ancestry and family trees for almost 20 years now across the USA. I've done thousands of family trees for thousands of families and it has been a blast! Over the last 6 months I've put together the how to guide I wrote on finding your ancestors, breaking down those walls and finding the answers you have had a hard time looking for. You can get a free copy if you would like. In addition to the guide I wrote, I also made a point and click program that works on any computer, PC or Apple, Windows. Gives you point and click access to Census, family trees, cemeteries, Revolutionary War, civil war, WW1, WW2 and Korean War, old land deeds, obituaries old state maps, county formations, Slave index, Indian rolls and hundreds of thousands of searchable newspaper archive from the mid 1850s to today just to name a few along with thousands of Facebook groups and social media groups to network with others, finding family in other states and trading old ancestor pictures! Also threw in my guide to Native American heritage ancestry. Can be difficult figuring out which tribe your ancestors came from. From the thousands of family trees I have done, quite a few of them had roots that went into tribes all across the USA, so I have quite a bit of experience in the area of native American ancestry. All family trees spread out in many states, So I have included every state in my program. Every State and Every county in the USA. So, whether your just getting started in ancestry or if you have been doing it for years, my Ancestor Hunt program will help you out and help you break down the walls. I've also included a database of people across the USA in each state that offer free lookups, so if you can't get to a certain state or if it's too far away just contact these people and they will do their best to help you out, Also included is easy family tree program that is by far the easiest program to create your actual family tree. You can create your tree, Save it, print it out or publish it online, all from my program. If you would like a free copy just send me a e-mail ancestorhunt1958@gmail.com There is a $6.00 shipping handling fee, to cover the shipping and creation of the CD-ROM. As I said before it works on any platform computer. PC, Apple, any version of windows etc. Happy Hunting!! Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I had the opportunity to visit the "Kimball Family Burial Plot" in Spearfish, S.D. Where Anne Elizabeth Kimball and Henry Bruce Schofield are burried along side Frank Kimball and another indivdual whose name was illegible as a result of excessive weathering on the marker.
