    2. Thanks Barb on the three marriages of Goode. I found he writes he had a house built and furnished with furniture form a Sheriffs sale. He married Elizabeth Cook (Lizza) on June 29, 1894. Saying further it was the first known new house the bride walked in in the County (or such). He dosen't mention her death nor further marriages. His Ledger of 1918 may not cover these. My birth is set down as occurring on December 26, 1868, but my mother told me that this event occurred about the time the “cock crew” on the second morning after Christmas, which was about 4 O’clock AM Dec 27, 1868. In the margin of his Ledger he writes December 27, 1868. This is in the CD of his Ledger Book. Lee **************Start the year off right.     3. Raleigh Register Beckley, West Virginia July 13, 1947 Mrs. Ada Goode To Be Interred Today MULLENS ---- Final rites for Mrs. Ada Brooks Goode, 64, wife of the Rev. G. Pendleton Goode of near Pineville, will be conducted from the Cook Memorial Baptist Church today at 11 a.m. with the Rev. E. I. Hill officiating. Interment will follow in the Sturgill Cemetery on the Goode home place, Bearhole Fork. Mrs. Goode died at home at 1:30 a.m. Friday of a cancer of the stomach after having been ill in health for the past six years. Born near Ravencliff, October 3, 1883, she was the daughter of the late Ben H. and Mary Ann Brooks. On July 20, 1904, she was united in marriage to the Rev. Mr. Goode, well-known Wyoming County teacher, historian, and minister. she was an active member of the Pine Grove and Rockcastle Baptist Churches for 47 years. Besides her husband, she is survived by three sons and two daughters: Virgil A. Goode, Arnold Goode, Bert Goode, Mrs. John S. Lambert, all of Pineville, and Miss Maggie Lee Goode, of Charleston; three step-children, Mrs. Wade H. Lemon, Ravencliff, and Howard Goode and Mrs. Fred Tuner, of Tams; five brothers and two sisters; Johnston Brooks, Glen Fork; the Rev. W. F. Brooks, Jesse; Garland Brooks and Kelly Brooks and Mrs. Wiley W. Smith, Princeton; Mrs. Rebecca Adkins, Glen Fork, and Arthur Brooks, Kingston, Tennessee.
