Stan, Vance was a very good friend with my two uncles, Orin and Omar Cooper. they would come to our house in Beckley and I was almost a teen at the time. They were a wild bunch of guys. I was always happy when they came up to visit because I could stay up and listen to the wild stories. It was at the end of WWII. Vance and his wife came to Florida every year to stay with Uncle Orin and Aunt Margie Stewart Cooper. They all remained life time friends. I was in the car once when we went through Ocala and passed Mildred's house. By the way John Spence was my uncle and Uncle Lon was the nephew of my greatgrandnmother Victoria Scott Spence. I have an old picture that my cousin Jesse Spence thought had Uncle Al Role in it. Not my real uncle either. I never knew who that was until you mentioned it in one of your emails.
