Making some progress on his Naval history, however I had been told several years ago those records had been destroyed. He sailed out of Norfolk on the U.S.S. Ontario. Going out Hampton Rhodes he remarked the small sea going tug would "struggle" up the hugh wave and literally fall down the other side. He went through the Canals at the Itums of Panama. They arrived in SanDiago where they again took on water, coal and supplies before sailing to Hawaii. I have a picture of the Ontario sailing int Montago Bay. I think the Navy doesn't have a picture. Thanks again folks, Lee Hash Lee, I need to talk with my brother in law. He was stationed in San Diego during WWII. I will ask my hubby to call Vincent and see what he knows **************Wondering what's for Dinner Tonight? Get new twists on family favorites at AOL Food.
