I have been searching the Census Records for my dear OLE Dad. He was in the Navy sometime in 1920. Do the Military keep or compile such records ?? After a very long search I found Daddy, under another first name, Emmett E. Hash, in the 1930 Census Records. My Mothers name was of her actual given name Josie J. And looking down further I found myself listed at age 3+. My name was recorded correct except they left off an extra “e”. It was a total shock which tells me that I’m an old man nowadays. Like reading my own obituary, weird feeling. My Sisters name was recorded as Lottie (Loretta) at age 1. I remember the Census taker coming by the house that day and when mother told Daddy he was there he had some funny comments, seems he didn’t like nosey people.
